League Two Round-Up: 06/10/2018

Bury vs Mansfield

Ryan Lowe’s Bury welcome Mansfield to Gigg Lane in the 12th instalment of League Two matches on Saturday afternoon. David Flitcroft’s side are undefeated in their last three and can be backed at 11/5 with Bet 365 here. Two of those matches have ended in draws, whilst their home match against Northampton at the end of August ended in a 4-0 hammering for the hosts. Mansfield last travelled to Bury in 2014, where the hosts won 2-0 and with the away side having not beaten Bury since 2005, they’ll be looking for redemption this week. The hosts, priced at 7/5 with William Hill, lost their last match 1-0 to Carlisle at Gigg Lane in September and their first match at their home ground in October will be one their side will be looking to win to get them into the playoff places. The draw can be backed at 5/2 with Bet Victor, but we are backing goals galore in this one.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 goals at 11/10 with Paddy Power – BET HERE

Crawley Town vs Cambridge United

12th plays 23rd at Broadfield Stadium as Crawley Town, who are 11/8 favourites with Unibet, take on relegation threatened Cambridge United, priced 19/10 with Bet Victor. A win is imperative for both sides in this one, after both lost in midweek. Crawley were beaten 3-1 away to Notts County, whilst United lost by the same scoreline at home to unbeaten Forest Green. The sides last met here in the opening month of last term, where United won 1-0. However, we are backing the hosts to win 2-0, which will certainly inflict even more pain on the away side, but could also get Town into the playoff places.

Recommended bet: Crawley Town to win 2-0 at 12/1 with William Hill – BET HERE

Forest Green vs Newport

Unbeaten Forest Green return to their home patch in pursuit of yet another win that could cement them in the playoffs against a Newport side who are flying high four points above them. A win for the hosts, which is priced at 8/7 with Bet Victor, would put the pressure right on the top three, whilst their eighth draw of the season, priced at 12/5 with Betway, isn’t an unlikely occurrence. Newport were on a win-streak of three matches prior to their recent emphatic 3-3 draw with strugglers Macclesfield and their high-scoring match wasn’t the first time the away side have struggled this term. They were also beaten 6-0 at home to Yeovil in a shock September result, but that is unlikely here and the game is expected to be much tighter. Therefore, we are backing the draw in this one as we are unable to separate two of the best sides in League Two.

Recommended bet: Match to be drawn at 12/5 with Betway – BET HERE

Grimsby Town vs Port Vale

Blundell Park in Cleethorpes is the host of Grimsby Town vs Port Vale as two struggling sides of the opening 11 games look to propel themselves up the fourth tier table. The hosts are now without a win in two and find themselves in 16th, whilst a recent win for the hosts of this weekend’s match beat Carlisle on the road in midweek, which moved them out of the dreaded bottom two. Another win for Grimsby is priced at 2/1 with Bet 365, whilst a Vale win is a tidy 17/11 with Betfair. However, we are expecting a cagey affair in this one and we are backing the draw, priced at 11/5 with Unibet.

Recommended bet: Match to be drawn at 11/5 with Unibet – BET HERE

Lincoln City vs Crewe

The most eye-catching side of the League Two season so far return to action on Saturday afternoon as Lincoln City take on struggling Crewe at Sincil Bank. The hosts top the table after eight magnificent wins and one draw, but a recent loss to Tranmere has closed the gap between them and their rivals. Crewe won their last, beating Swindon 1-0 and back-to-back wins is priced at a hefty 6/1 with Bet 365 here, whilst the draw is 10/3 with Betfair and a ninth win of the season for the hosts is priced at 1/2 with Betway. We like the hosts to get back to winning ways here with a 3-1 comfortable win.

Recommended bet: Lincoln City to win 3-1 at 12/1 with BetVictor – BET HERE

Macclesfield vs Notts County

Moss Rose is the host for Saturday afternoon’s League Two kick off between bottom of the table Macclesfield and a resurgent Notts County, who are now unbeaten in four matches after a horrific seven games to start the campaign. Back-to-back wins for the away side sees them into 20th, one point above the drop zone, but another one is imperative here for the away side to get them comfortably away from the bottom two. Macclesfield remain one of the only sides in all of the football league not to win and three points here is a must if they hope to avoid being cut even further adrift. The hosts are priced at 19/10 with Betfair, whilst the draw is 13/5 with Bet Victor and an away win is 13/10 with Paddy Power. We think County will make it three wins from three with a tidy 2-0 win on the road this weekend against an uninspired Macclesfield.

Recommended bet: Notts County to win 2-0 at 13/1 with BetVictor – BET HERE

MK Dons vs Cheltenham

Milton Keynes Dons return to League Two action in pursuit of their fourth consecutive match unbeaten, as they host Cheltenham Town, who are without a win in any of their last four games. The sides haven’t met since 2012, when the reverse fixture in the Carabao Cup ended in a win for Cheltenham. The same result is 9/2 with Betfair, whilst the draw is 33/10 with Bet Victor and a home win is 7/10 with Bet 365. Dons will be looking to climb the table once again after falling out of the top two after three draws in four games and we predict the hosts will win this one 3-0.

Recommended bet: MK Dons to win 3-0 at 12/1 with BetVictor – BET HERE

Morecambe vs Tranmere

A Morecambe side who had been struggling so badly for the majority of the opening two months of the season are now in resurgence and after going undefeated in their last three, they welcome a Tranmere side who beat table toppers Lincoln 1-0 in their last outing. The hosts drew their last match 2-2 on the road and they beat struggling Grimsby away from home prior to that. They return to Glanford Park here in pursuit of a similar result to their last on home soil, when they beat Macclesfield 2-1. The same result is priced at 19/10 with Bet 365, whilst a draw is 5/2 with Bet Victor. The away side, who sit 10th in the table, have been good on the road this season and a win for them is priced at an eye-catching 15/11 with Unibet. We struggle to separate these sides, but we do predict goals in Morecambe on Saturday.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score at 10/11 with Betway – BET HERE

Oldham vs Carlisle

Oldham face off against Carlisle at Boundary Park on Saturday afternoon, as two sides who have struggled for three points as of late go in search of a much-needed win to get them back on the right track. The hosts have drawn their last two matches 0-0 on the road, which is ironic considering they are renowned for scoring goals this term. Whilst Carlisle were on the end of a shock 1-0 loss to strugglers Grimsby and one week prior were beaten by the same scoreline at home to Stevenage. The away side will be welcoming a trip away from Brunton Park and a win for them here is priced at 11/4 with William Hill, whilst a draw is 13/5 with Bet 365. The hosts are the favourites at 10/11 with Betway, but we are backing goals in this one.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 goals at 11/10 with Paddy Power – BET HERE

Stevenage vs Colchester

Broadway Hall will play host to Stevenage against Colchester as two of this season’s impressers go head-to-head for three points which would see them cement themselves in the all-important playoff spots. The hosts lost last time out away to Exeter in a 1-0 loss, whilst Colchester went fourth with a 3-1 win over Yeovil. The sides met here back in March last season and Colchester wo that 1-0 and the same result is 13/10 with Bet 365. The draw can be found at 12/5 with Bet 365, whilst the hosts can be backed as high as 21/10 with Betfair. We like the away side in this one, a side who have been good on the road this term

Recommended bet: Colchester to win 2-1 at 17/2 with Paddy Power – BET HERE

Swindon vs Northampton

Swindon host a struggling Northampton side at the County Ground on Saturday afternoon, as the hosts look for three points that could get them back into the mix inside the playoffs. However, a 1-0 loss to Crewe earlier this week would’ve worried Swindon fans and it’ll be down to their players to get a win, priced at 7/5 with Bet Victor. The draw can be backed at 12/5 with Paddy Power and that could be likely after the two sides have accumulated nine stalemate’s between them. An unlikely win for Northampton for only the second time this season can be backed at 21/10 with Bet365, but we are backing the host to run out comfortable winners over the side who sit just two places outside of the drop zone on goal difference.

Recommended bet: Swindon to win 3-0 at 25/1 with BetVictor – BET HERE

Yeovil vs Exeter

Yeovil host high-flying Exeter at Huish Park on Saturday afternoon, as the hosts look to put an end to a four-game winless streak with an unlikely win over second-placed Exeter. The away side will be looking to win for the eighth time this campaign, which can be backed at 7/2 with William, whilst the draw is a hefty 23/10 with Betfair. Yeovil are in awful form and back-to-back 3-1 losses to Colchester and Crawley in the last week make them 2/1 underdogs with Bet 365. The sides have already met here this season in the Checkatrade Trophy competition and a weakened Exeter side still ran out winners. We are backing the away side to win the match, but with both teams to score, which has been a feature of their winning matches this season.

Recommended bet: Exeter to win and both teams to score at 5/1 with SkyBet – BET HERE
