Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough side host Aston Villa at the Riverside Stadium in the Championship’s late kick off. The home side come into this game looking like one of the favourites for promotion to the top flight whilst Villa look revitalised under new boss Dean Smith so it’s set to be an intriguing clash when these two meet on Saturday.

Middlesbrough come into this one on the back of Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Preston which cost them the chance to go top of the Championship table. Boro currently sit in 3rd place, just two points behind leaders Norwich so will be hoping they can keep up the pressure on the leaders with a win here.

Josh Hugill will be looking to continue his recent impressive run of form. The forward has got three goals in his last three matches and will be expected to lead the line once again. The 26 year old has emerged as a regular goal threat for Boro after going his previous ten Championship appearances without scoring so will be desperate to continue his form here. Hugill is best priced to score anytime at 15/8 with Bet365 and if you fancy him to get the opening goal that’s also best priced with Bet365 at 11/2.

Under 2.5 goals could be a good bet to back here. Middlesbrough come into this one with under 2.5 goals landing in 6 of their last 7 matches and comfortably have the best defensive record in the Championship, conceding just 10 goals all season so far in the league. If you fancy under 2.5 goals to land in this one it’s best priced with Betvictor at 3/4 for this one.

Middlesbrough are favourites for this clash, mainly due to them losing just one of their home matches in the Championship all season long. If you fancy Boro to pick up the win here they’re best priced 5/4 with Bet365, Unibet and Betvictor.

Aston Villa come into this game after Wednesday’s chaotic 5-5 draw with Nottingham Forest. Villa currently sit in 8th place in the Championship, just 3 points off the final playoff spot, so will still be confident of turning their season around.

Villa have picked up their form in recent weeks since they brought in Dean Smith to replace Steve Bruce back in October. They’re currently on a four match unbeaten run in the Championship with three wins in a row prior to that draw with Forest. Villa have been impressive in front of goal in that run as well with 14 goals scored in those four matches so they’ll be hoping to get on the scoresheet here once again. If you fancy the Villains to get on the scoresheet here they’re are best priced at 6/4 with Bet365 and Betway to get the first goal of the game, something which they have done in 6 of their last 8 matches.

Tammy Abraham will be looking to continue his goalscoring form after netting four times in the 5-5 draw with Forest. Abraham has now scored an impressive 10 goals in 13 games in the league so far this season so backing him to score could be a smart bet here. If you want to back Abraham to score he’s available at 5/2 to score anytime and is as far back as 13/2 with Betfair to open the scoring at the Riverside.

Villa come into this game as the underdogs for this clash despite their impressive result in this fixture last season. They came away 1-0 winners in this fixture last season and if you fancy them to repeat the same scoreline it’s available at 9/1 across most major bookmakers. However if you just fancy Villa to pick up the win they’re best priced at 14/5 with Bet365 and Unibet whilst a draws available at 12/5 with Bet365 and BetVictor.
