Napoli vs Zurich Betting Preview – 21/02/2019

Napoli vs Zurich

FC Zurich make the 2,100-kilometre round trip from Switzerland to Italy this week as they go head-to-head with Napoli at the San Paolo Stadium in the second leg of their Europa League last 32 tie. Napoli put three past Zurich when they travelled to Switzerland last week, however, Benjamin Kololli slotted home a penalty late on to give Zurich a slight chance of progression to the latter stages.

Napoli were handed an incredibly difficult Champions League group – as they were drawn against PSG, Liverpool and Red Star Belgrade. They missed out narrowly on second place to Liverpool – both of which finished on nine points, although, Jurgen Klopp’s side progressed on away points. Zurich progressed comfortably in second place from Europa League Group A as their 10 points was five more than third placed AEK Larnaca. It is the first time in 11 years Zurich have made it this far in a European competition and the odds are stacked against them progressing any further.

A massive 12/1 with SkyBet says they cause a major upset and turn the tie around, although, given the fact Napoli, who are 2/9 odds-on, have qualified on all seven occasions in Europe when they have won the first leg on the road, it’s probably not worth backing Zurich to cause an upset. Napoli are currently on a run of eight unbeaten in 10 – winning five, drawing, three and losing twice, however, their recent home record is even better. Gli Azzurri are unbeaten in 17 fixtures – winning 13, drawing four – and average 2.06 goals a game at the San Paolo, failing to find the net on just two occasions.

That doesn’t fare well for Zurich, who haven’t kept a clean sheet in 11 competitive away games, conceding an average of two goals per game. While, they have won just once in their last seven fixtures – drawing twice and losing four. Given this Napoli should be worth backing -2 at 11/8 with SkyBet.

Arkadiusz Milik has scored eight in his last ten home games for Napoli, however, he failed to find the net in the reverse fixture. 3/4 with SkyBet says he scores anytime, while 14/5 says he opens the scoring. Fellow forward Lorenzo Insigne opened the scoring when Napoli travelled to Switzerland, and 7/2 says lightning strikes twice, while he is even money to score at any point. Kololli, who scored Zurich’s only goal in the 3-1 defeat, has scored an impressive six goals in his last 10 away matches – 9/2 with SkyBet says he finds the back of the net anytime in Naples, while a massive 16/1 says he opens the scoring for the visitors.
