UEFA Nations League Round-Up: 15/10/2018

Finland vs Greece

This Monday evening Greece will take on group leaders Finland in a hope to close the three-point gap that currently separates them, whereas a win here for Finland would see them open up a six-point lead and surely secure a spot in the Nations League finals. Kanerva’s men have been in fine form in recent matches and have won all three of their fixtures in this competition so far, however, it hasn’t always been totally convincing, with all three matches ending in 1-0 wins. Greece sit in 2nd with six points after losing to Hungary 2-1, but did manage to bounce back in the reverse fixture, winning 1-0 thanks to Kostas Mitroglou’s strike in the second half. This has the look of a close game with the likes of BetVictor and Ladbrokes pricing both sides at 9/5 to win, while SkyBet has Finland to win at 19/10 and Greece at 9/5.

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Northern Ireland

On Monday Bosnia and Herzegovina will look to extend their perfect record in the Nations League when they take on Northern Ireland. Bosnia and Herzegovina are unbeaten in their last seven matches and have managed to secure two wins from two games in the competition against Austria and Northern Ireland. Michael O’Neill has had a nightmare start to the Nations League, with his team yet to secure a point and sit at the bottom of the group. Although they have lost both of their games in the tournament, they did put in a good performance against Israel during a recent friendly, winning 3-0. After a perfect start to the group stages, Bosnia are strong favourites to win in this clash and have been priced at 8/11 with Ladbrokes, while Northen Ireland are at 11/2 with Bet365.

Two up, Two down

Iceland vs Switzerland

Iceland will have a chance this Monday to put their 10-game winless run to an end when they take on Switzerland. Iceland have not seen any success during this tournament and look set to be eliminated from their group after securing no points from their first two matches and their upcoming fixture may be a case of damage limitation as they attempt to keep their pride intact on Monday. Switzerland sit in 2nd with Belgium topping the group, like many expected, after they beat Switzerland 2-1 on Friday. Mario Gavranović’s equalising goal in the second half wouldn’t be enough to secure a point as Romelu Lukaku scored a brace to seal all three points. The 10 game streak without a win makes Iceland serious underdogs to win in this fixture and can be backed at 7/2 with Betway, whereas Switzerland are priced at 5/6 with SkyBet.

Belarus vs Moldova

Group leaders Belarus will take on 3rd placed Moldova and hope to keep their spot at the top in a very tight group in the Nations League. Belarus are unbeaten in the competition so far and kicked off in style with a 5-0 win over San Marino, which was followed up by a draw to Moldova and they then beat Luxembourg 1-0. Moldova drew to Belarus in the reverse fixture and were very lucky to leave with a point with their opponents dominating the game. They do come into this game off the back of a win though after beating San Marino 2-0. Moldova are the team to back if you are feeling brave with odds of 11/2 to win, while Belarus sit at 8/13 favourites with Bet365.

Luxembourg vs San Marino

San Marino will be the travelling side on Monday when they take on Luxembourg as they attempt to secure their first points of the competition after losing all three of their opening matches. Luxembourg had made a perfect start to the Nations League, beating Moldova and San Marino with ease scoring seven goals in the process, however, Belarus put this run to an end last time out winning 1-0. This should be a straightforward win for Holtz’s side as they take on a side that has conceded 10 goals in three games. With Ladbrokes you can back the hosts at a very short 1/20 with Ladbrokes, but if you are feeling brave San Marino sit at a huge 66/1 with Bet365.

Recommended Bet: Luxembourg to score 4+ goals at 11/10 SkyBet – BET HERE

Estonia vs Hungary

The last game to take place this Monday in the Nations League is between 4th-placed Estonia and 3rd-placed Hungary. There has been little to cheer about for the Estonia fanbase in recent times, with their last win dating back to May of this year where they beat Lithuania 2-0, however, they have been unlucky not to secure any points this tournament having suffered three narrow 1-0 losses. Hungary have not been in good form either, with just one win in their last seven games which came against Greece, who they beat 2-1. A win for the travelling side could see them move up to 2nd but a loss could push them down to the bottom of the group so a huge game for Rossi’s men. After a poor start, you can back Estonia to win at 15/4 with Ladbrokes with the safer option of Hungary being priced at 20/23 with BetVictor.

Recommended Bet: Both teams to score at 11/10 Betway – BET HERE
