Norwich City vs Ipswich Town Betting Preview – 10/02/2019

Norwich City vs Ipswich Town

Norwich City will be expecting to keep their spot at the top of the Championship table this Weekend with a straightforward win over Ipswich Town at Carrow Road. The battle for the title spot in the Championship continues and following their 3-1 win over Leeds United, the Canaries have claimed the spot for themselves. Ipswich Town finds themselves at the other end of the table and look set to face relegation by the end of the season. When these sides first met this season, Ipswich managed to leave with a point after the result ended 1-1, but we are expecting a win for the hosts this time around.

Norwich City found themselves taking first place once again last weekend after making light work of Leeds United and beating them 3-1. This victory saw move above them but the two sides remain on level points, leaving little room for error. The Canaries have only secured two wins in their last four matches, but remain unbeaten in those games which saw them face tough opponents. Daniel Farke will be expecting his side to secure max points in their next three games as they go up against Ipswich, Bolton and Preston. The hosts have been priced at 2/5 with SkyBet to secure the win.

Despite being top of the league, Norwich have been far from strong defensively with them conceding 39 goals this season but their success has come from their ability to outscore their opponents with 57 goals scored this season. Although they have been weak defensively their opponents have scored just two goals in their last five matches and should pose little threat on Sunday. SkyBet has Norwich to keep a clean sheet priced at 5/6. Teemu Pukki is his sides top goalscorer this season and has three goals in his last three games. Bet365 has the forward to add to his tally priced at 10/11.

Ipswich Town have had a tough season and if they are unable to start securing points soon, there is no doubt that they will be featuring in League One next season. Town currently sits in 24th and trail 23rd by five points leaving them plenty of work just to climb one place. Sheffield Wednesday dealt their most recent defeat which marked their third consecutive loss. The Blues managed to hold their opponents to a 1-1 draw in their first meeting this season and SkyBet are offering 15/2 for a repeat result. Betway is offering 15/2 for Ipswich to secure the three points.

With 51 goals conceded this season, Ipswich holds the record for the most goals conceded in the Championship and are bound to have problems going up against a team who has scored the second most goals in the league. In three of their last five games, Ipswich have failed to score a single goal and Bet365 has them to score zero goals priced at 4/5. If Ipswich are to score then it is likely to come from their top goalscorer, Freddie Sears. Betway has him to score anytime at  9/2.
