Faroe Islands vs Azerbaijan

Our Nations League Round-Up begins with one of the less glamorous ties, as the Faroe Islands take on Azerbaijan in a League D encounter. These two sides made mixed starts to their respective campaigns in the new competitions, with the hosts kicking off with a win over Malta, before losing 2-0 to Kosovo to leave them sat second in Group 3. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan sit third after back-to-back draws in their first two outings against the same teams, drawing 0-0 with Kosovo and 1-1 with Malta. Azerbaijan are still the favourites here at 8/5 with Bet365, with the hosts being the outsiders at 21/10 with Betfred.

Israel vs Scotland

Alex McCleish’s Scotland will look to build upon their winning start to the Nations League, having opened their campaign with a 2-0 home win against Albania. This certainly looks a winnable group for the Tartan Army, as they look to use the Nations League to provide a platform for qualification to Euro 2020. That is especially true after Israel made a losing start to their tournament, going down 1-0 to Albania, with a second defeat from two games leaving them almost certainly on the brink of elimination from the competition altogether. That said, there really is little to separate these two teams, with Bet365 having an Israel win priced at 19/10, while SkyBet also have a Scotland victory at 19/10.

Kosovo vs Malta

Another League D Group 3 contest sees Kosovo host Malta on Thursday night, as an unbeaten side takes on a team that is yet to win in the Nations League. Kosovo started with a 0-0 draw away to Azerbaijan, before beating the Faroe Islands at home, leaving them still yet to concede in the Nations League so far. Meanwhile, Malta will be looking to improve on a start which has seen them take just a point from their opening two matches, conceding four goals in the process. Kosovo look heavy favourites to come away with three points in this one and are best-priced at 3/10 with Bet365 to win this contest. As for Malta, they are available at 14/1 with Ladbrokes and Coral, providing value for those who fancy an upset.

Lithuania vs Romania

If the first two games are anything to go by, Lithuania could be in for a difficult Nations League campaign, having lost each of their first two matches in the competition. They started with a 1-0 defeat at home to Serbia, before then going down 2-0 against Montenegro away from home. Romania were unspectacular early on, starting off with back-to-back draws, including an entertaining 2-2 tie with Serbia last time out. Romania are favoured in this one at 3/5 with Bet365, while Lithuania are available at 71/11 with Unibet.

Montenegro vs Serbia

There will be plenty of eyes on this contest between two former joined nations, as Montenegro take on Serbia on Thursday night in the Nations League. Both teams have four points from their first two matches in the competition, with Montenegro beating Lithuania 2-0 in their most recent outing, after starting with a 0-0 draw against Romania. As for Serbia, they drew 2-2 with Romania last time out, after overcoming Lithuania with a 1-0 victory. Despite being away from home, Serbia are favourites at 19/20 with Ladbrokes, William Hill and and Coral. The hosts are currently best-priced at 7/2 in what should be an intense encounter.

Recommended bet: Serbia win and both teams to score YES at 15/4 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Poland vs Portugal

The one League A game from Thursday’s round of fixtures in the Nations League comes from Warsaw, as Poland face Portugal. Both teams opened their campaigns with fixtures against Italy last time out and Poland will have been disappointed to have drawn 1-1 away from home after taking the lead. As for Portugal, they sit top of Group 3 following a 1-0 victory over the Azzuri thanks to a single goal from Andre Silva. The European champions are slight favourites in this contest at 17/10 with Bet365, with this recently underwhelming Poland side from the World Cup available at 37/19 with Unibet.

Russia vs Sweden

Finally, World Cup hosts Russia face Sweden in League B’s Group Two, after both countries made contrasting starts in their opening game against Turkey. Russia won 2-1 away to Turkey in their first Nations League appearance, before following that up with an impressive 5-1 thrashing of the Czech Republic. Sweden had a difficult previous international break, as they first lost 2-0 to Austria in a friendly before Turkey claimed a dramatic 3-2 win at the Friends Arena. Sweden led 2-0 after 49 minutes before collapsing at home, with Turkey’s equaliser and winner coming in the 88th minute onwards. Russia look great value at 1/1 with Bet365, SkyBet, Unibet and Coral, while a Sweden win is less fancied at 7/2 with Unibet.
