UEFA Nations League Round-Up: 19/11/2018

Czech Republic vs Slovakia

UEFA Nations League action returns on Monday evening and an interesting tie from Group B is set to go ahead in Prague at the Sinobo Stadium, as Czech Republic take on Slovakia in a battle for survival from their group. Both sides sit second and third respectively after just one win each, but it’s Slovakia who come into this one in the better form after beating Group leaders Ukraine 4-1 last weekend in terrific style. Another win here for the away side is attractive odds of 21/10 with William Hill, whilst the draw is 12/5 with Bet365. The hosts sit second in their Nations League group after beating Monday’s opponents by two goals to one last month – but a win is a must here to avoid relegation and that result is 13/10 with Betway. The tie should be an interesting one and we struggle to split both teams, but we do predict Czech Republic and Sampdoria midfielder Jakub Jankto to grab a goal here after his winner against Poland in midweek.

Recommended bet: Jakub Jankto to score anytime @ 10/1 with Sky Bet – BET HERE

Denmark vs Republic of Ireland

The final match of the Nations League Group 4, League B action comes from Aarhus at the Ceres Park Stadium as group leaders Denmark look to book their place in the next stage of the competition with a win against the struggling Ireland. Denmark are unbeaten in this competition and come into this one as the obvious favourites at 4/7 with William Hill, whilst a second draw in the Nations League for the hosts is 14/5 with Bet365. Ireland have been extremely poor and will finish their Nations League campaign in last no matter what the result here – but the Bhoys in Green will be desperate to give their fans something to shout about and a win for the Irish is long odds of 7/1 with Bet365. We are backing over 2.5 goals in this one after the two sides have thrown up some crackers over the years; including a six-goal thriller back in late-2017.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 goals @ 13/10 with William Hill – BET HERE

Bulgaria vs Slovenia

Two sides who are desperate to book a spot at the 2020 European Championship square off in Sofia at the Vasil Levski Stadion on Monday night as Bulgaria take on Slovenia in the final tie of the Group 3, League C Nations League. Aside from a loss to group leaders Norway last month, Bulgaria have had a successful campaign and a win here, which is priced at 7/9 with William Hill, would book their promotion to League B. However, Slovenia will confident of spoiling the party here and despite a five-game winless drought, with one of those games coming with a loss to Bulgaria, the visitors will be hoping to pick up at least a point. Both sides’ last match ended in a 1-1 draw and the same result in this one is 5/2 with Unibet, whilst the away win is 4/1 with Bet Victor. We like both teams to score in this one after Bulgaria have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven home ties.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score @ 12/11 with Unibet – BET HERE

Cyprus vs Norway

Cyprus will be looking to end a horrendous run of eight losses in their last 12 matches against an impressive Norway side in the Nations League on Monday night. The visitors are top of Group 3 and a win would ensure their promotion to the next stage, a result which is priced at 7/11 with Betway – whilst the draw is 14/5 with the same bookmaker. Cyprus are obvious outsiders of 9/2 with William Hill and warrant such a price after winning just once in their last 12 matches. Norway are on a winning run of nine matches in their head-to-head meetings with Cyprus and a win here looks a good bet for the visitors. However, after seven of those nine games have ended with at least three goals, we see the value being with the over 2.5 goals market here.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 goals @ 11/10 with BetVictor – BET HERE

Andorra vs Latvia

Late Monday afternoon will bring an interesting tie on the penultimate day of the Nations League group fixtures as Andorra take on Latvia in League D, Group 1 at the Estadio Nacional in Andorra la Vella. Both sides meet for one specific reason – with hopes of ending their poor run of games rather than looking to advance in their group, with Latvia sat in third and Andorra rock bottom. The hosts have not won in seven matches and are 3/1 with William Hill to do so here. The visitors are arguably the better performing side and that is evident in their odds to win the tie at 10/11 with Betfair. The draw is 19/10 with Betway which we feel could be a good bet after the pair have recorded several draws in their winless run, but we are backing the visitors to keep a clean sheet after Andorra have not scored a goal in their five head-to-head meetings since 1997.

Recommended bet: Latvia to keep a clean-sheet @ 10/11 with SkyBet – BET HERE

Georgia vs Kazakhstan

The already-promoted Georgia take on promotion hopefuls Kazakhstan in the Nation League D, Group 1 on Monday evening at the Dinamo Arena. Georgia have been fantastic as of late and a spot at the European Championships in two years is a definite reality, but a win here would be important to continue their momentum – with the chance to go six-competitive matches unbeaten for the first time in their history. Kazakhstan have won just once in their five games, drawing on three occasions, but that has been more than enough to get the visitors into second in their group – and a win here could be a huge achievement. However, after four of the away teams’ last five matches have included under 2.5 goals and with the hosts expected to field a weakened side considering they are already through – we are backing less than three goals in this one. The hosts can be backed at 5/7 with Bet365, whilst the draw is 12/5 with the same bookmaker. Kazakhstan are the obvious underdogs in this one at a price of 51/10 with Unibet.

Recommended bet: Under 2.5 goals @ 13/10 with Bet365 – BET HERE

FYR Macedonia vs Gibraltar

Hosts Macedonia know a draw would be enough to secure promotion from League D on Monday evening, but the impressive side have to avoid complacency in this match against Gibraltar if they hope to avoid unwanted complications. The sides have actually only ever met on one previous occasion, with that match coming back in September in the reverse fixture in the Nations League – and it was Macedonia who ran out 2-0 winners. That result once again in this one is extremely short odds of 1/11 with Bet Victor, whilst the draw is 13/1 with Bet365. However, away side Gibraltar will be desperate to cause an upset and potentially go into second place if Armenia were to drop points – and a win for the travelling side is a huge 40/1 with Bet365. We do anticipate the home win here and we are backing the 3-1 score-line.

Recommended bet: FYR Macedonia to win 3-1 @ 15/2 with Betfair – BET HERE

Liechtenstein vs Armenia

Lichtenstein take on Armenia at the Rheinpark Stadion in Vaduz on Monday evening as the visitors look to go one step closer to a place in the next phase of the brand new competition with their third-straight win of the group. Armenia have bagged ten goals in their last two matches, with a 4-0 win over group leaders Macedonia and an emphatic 6-2 win over Gibraltar. Another win here is short odds of 2/7 with Unibet, whilst the draw is 9/2 with Bet365. The home side are in desperate need of a win to avoid an embarrassing end to their Nations League campaign, but odds of 10/1 with William Hill suggest Liechtenstein do not stand much chance. We are backing the impressive Dennis Salanovic to score here after bagging two goals and one assist in this competition and we also anticipate an exciting tie.

Recommended bet: Dennis Salanovic to score first @ 10/1 with Betfair – BET HERE
