West Brom vs Brighton Betting Preview – 06/02/2019

West Brom vs Brighton

This Wednesday, the Hawthorns will be home to West Brom and Brighton as they go head-to-head in their FA Cup Fourth Round Replay. The first meeting between these sides did not provide us with the most exciting game of football, with neither side able to break the deadlock it ended 0-0. The Baggies are the highest scoring side in the Championship and with them playing on home turf we should see them get on the scoresheet. The Premier League side arrives as slight favourites but in their current form, they may be in real danger of losing out to their Championship opposition.

Darren Moore will be pleased with his side’s performances this season in both the FA Cup and league competitions. The Baggies currently sit up in fourth place with 50 points and only seven points separate them from the league leaders leaving them as potential title contenders. West Brom picked up their seventh defeat of the season in their previous fixture against Middlesbrough who beat them 3-2. The hosts arrive at their home ground as slight underdogs this Wednesday with odds of 2/1 with Bet365.

The Baggies do not find themselves in their best form currently with them securing just two wins in their last five games, alongside two draws and a loss. The hosts have bagged 59 goals this season making them the highest scoring side in the league, but they have been lacking quality in front of goal in recent games. However, they have been remarkably strong defensively and conceded just four goals in their last five games – keeping three clean sheets along the way. Four of their last five games have seen under 2.5 goals scored and Bet365 has under 2.5 goals to be scored priced at 3/4.

With Brighton being the Premier League side in this cup clash, the pressure is on them to perform and take the victory that will see them progress onto the fifth round. Chris Hughton’s men dominated the first meeting between these sides but lacked the quality to finish their chances and it ended goalless. Bet635 has there to be under 0.5 goals priced at 17/2. The South Coast side head into this fixture off the back of a 0-0 draw with Watford. This draw marked the fifth game they have gone without a win. Despite their poor form they are slight favourites and have odds of 7/5 with SkyBet.

Chris Hughton will have wanted to arrive at this fixture in much better form than his side is currently in as they have now gone five games without a win, with them picking up three losses and two draws. In three of those games they have failed to score a single goal, but despite being poor in the final third have managed to keep two clean sheets showing their defensive strength. SkyBet has Brighton keep a clean sheet priced at 15/8. Glenn Murray bagged a brace against Fulham and continues to provide his sides main attacking threat this season. Betway has him to score anytime at 5/4.
