Wolves vs Crystal Palace

Two sides separated by nine points in the Premier League table meet on Wednesday night, with Wolves taking on Crystal Palace at Molineux. Wolves have been in excellent form of late and come into this one off the back of a 3-1 success away at Tottenham Hotspur, while Palace were beaten 1-0 at home to Chelsea.

Wolves will be delighted with their form over December, with the team losing just one of their six games in the Premier League across the month, which started with a victory over Chelsea at Molineux. That result has proven to be a catalyst for success for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, having won four of their last six matches that has helped them rise up to seventh in the Premier League table. The newly-promoted side were excellent as they came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium, with three goals from Willy Boly, Raul Jimenez and Helder Costa. Wolves are priced at 21/20 with BetVictor to win here.

The only team to have beaten Wolves in the previous month was table-toppers Liverpool and that was far from a walk in the park for the Reds, who were caused plenty of problems at Molineux in the Friday night clash. Aside from that, they have also beaten both Chelsea and Tottenham in recent weeks and find themselves just six points shy of Manchester United in the Premier League table, highlighting what an impressive start they have made in their first season back in the top flight. Both teams have scored in five of Wolves’ last seven games and a repeat outcome is currently priced at 21/20 with William Hill.

Crystal Palace were disappointing in their recent stretch of back-to-back matches at home, failing to score in each as they took just a point from two games in south London. The Eagles faced Cardiff City and Chelsea at Selhurst Park, starting with the Welsh outfit and were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw just after they beat Manchester City away from home. Palace then welcomed Chelsea to their home ground in south London, with a single goal from N’Golo Kante wrapping up the victory for Maurizio Sarri’s team. As such, Roy Hodgson’s team are now sat 14th in the Premier League table, just five points ahead of the relegation zone as we approach the New Year.

As such, it’s no surprise to see Crystal Palace priced as the outsiders in this one at 10/3 with Bet365, with the team underperforming in recent games. That said, their last away game was the stunning victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and they have scored five goals in their last two games away from home. The best of the bunch came in Andros Townsend’s wonderful strike at City, scoring on the volley from over 30 yards out and he can be backed to score here at 5/1 with Bet365.
