Wolves vs Tottenham Hotspur

Saturday night televised Premier League action returns for the first time this season as Nuno Espirito Santos’ Wolves return to Molineux Stadium to take on Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham in the first competitive meeting between the sides for over six years. The away side will be looking to continue their good away form which has seen them pick up the most points in the division when travelling away from home, whilst Wolves will be desperate to put right a two-game losing streak in front of the television cameras this weekend.

Wolves currently sit in tenth in their first season back in the Premier League and on the whole their campaign has been a successful one, with four wins and three draws from their first ten matches. However, their last two domestic ties have seen Saturday night’s hots lose back-to-back games against Watford and Brighton, both of which came without scoring, which will have disappointed manager Nuno. However, this weekend is a chance for last season’s Championship winners to put that right on the big stage and against easily one of their toughest opponents of the season so far. The hosts actually have a decent record against Spurs and have lost just once in their last three, but those games came back in 2011 and 2012 and they are a clear underdog here at 21/10 with Unibet, whilst the draw is 12/5 with Bet 365.

The hosts certainly have some good players in their ranks to cause their top six opponents some problems here, with Raul Jimenez looking to continue his good form which has seen him involved in nine of Wolves’ goals this term, with three assists and two goals also to himself. The striker to grab the opener here is 6/1 with Bet 365, whilst the impressive Ruben Neves, who is known for his wonderful dead-ball ability, is a huge 16/1 to score anytime – which is certainly an attractive selection.

Pochettino’s Tottenham have impressed once again for the most part this season and that is evident of their current position of fifth. However, their recent loss to reigning Champions Manchester City at their temporary home of Wembley has left the Londoners with some pressure on them heading into this weekend. Their away form has been impressive, which is certainly a huge positive and five wins on the road will set the standard for the away side. A win here is priced at 7/5 with William Hill, whilst the away side to score two or more goals, which is a great possibility if their key men turn up, is an attractive 11/10 with Sky Bet, whilst the away side to win to nil is 11/4 with the same bookmaker.

Looking to ensure his side get back to winning ways in the Premier League after a positive 3-1 win away to bitter rivals West Ham in the EFL Cup in midweek will be the ever-present Harry Kane, who will once again lead the line for his side and will be in pursuit of his sixth goals this term. Arguably their best performer as of late has been Argentine midfielder Erik Lamela, who has found the net three times in six games since being put back into the starting 11, as well as another two goals in other competitions. The tricky winger also has three assists in his last ten competitive matches and he’ll be looking to make an impact in what could be a tough game in their trip to the Midlands. Both men to score here is 7/1 with Sky Bet, whilst Kane to score first is 10/3 with Bet 365 and Lamela anytime is 17/2 with the same bookmaker.
