What is a BTTS bet?

There isn’t always enough explanation over exactly what each betting market is, and it can mean that people are missing out on getting involved in some of the most enjoyable types of bet. BTTS is now one of the most used markets by frequent punters and is sometimes seen as being more desirable through it being arguably easier to land than typical win markets or the array of other variations.

BTTS stands for Both Teams To Score and all it consists of is both sides in a given game to score in 90 minutes, regardless of the final result. It doesn’t matter which player scores, how many goals are scored, when they happen in the ninety-minute period, what the specific final score is, or who wins the match, as long as both teams score.

To back that market, all you need to do is find the ‘Both Teams To Score’ or ‘BTTS’ market on a bookmaker’s page for a given game, and select ‘Yes’. There is also a ‘No’ option, which means that both teams won’t score. In this instance, it doesn’t matter if it ends at 1-0 or 0-0, as long as both teams don’t score, your selection will result as a winner.

How do we pick our BTTS Acca tips?

In the same way that we make up any bet we tip, we use statistics, form, player availability and any other factors that come into play – it’s no different when we create out our BTTS Accas. The only change from when we pick a bet including win markets is that instead of looking for how certain sides have fared in playing at home or away, and how solid form has been in the way of wins and losses, we’re looking at the goals scored and how capable each side is of scoring in their current circumstances.

These bets could occur on any day of the week depending on how many games are being played and whether there’s games that we see as being likely for both teams scoring. As the weekend is always the liveliest time for football games being played, we’ll regularly have a BTTS Acca ready for all of Saturday’s action.

Why is the BTTS market so popular?

Recent advancements in football betting have seen opportunities to back shots on target for specific players and the ability to build your own bet from scratch, but the BTTS market stands as a cornerstone in betting alongside traditional win markets and Over/Under 2.5 Goals.

The main pull of a Both Teams To Score bet is that it doesn’t matter how the game goes or what the final result is. If there’s a sending off for one side or it ends up being an absolute rout where one team has scored four goals, it doesn’t matter who the match winner is or what the final score is, as long as both teams are able to score.

It leaves a lot of football fans on the edges of their seats into the final few minutes of their bet as they await the one goal that makes their BTTS selection a winner, but there’s far more opportunity than simply backing a team to win a match outright.
