Tottenham Hotspur leads the way for the signature of Franck Kessie this January who is also out of contract this summer.
Spurs are not in that great of a need for a midfielder as they once were with the addition of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and the rise of Oliver Skipp. However, they greatly lack an attacking talent who can score goals from midfield ever since the departure of Christian Eriksen and the continued lack of decent form from Dele Alli.
What may also give Spurs fans a bit of hope in this signing is the link that Antonio Conte has with Serie A and how over the past few years, he's tended to buy players from Serie A and/or invest and win with such players in Italy. Kessie has spent his entire career in Italy, recently with Milan, but also with Atalanta and Cesena; this is something Conte will no doubt adore.
Given the fact he is out of contract in the summer, it's unlikely we will see Spurs head for them here with their budget clearly not that diverse and generous, and someone of Daniel Levy's history is not likely to splash the cash and simply wait his turn. However, they could well miss out on the transfer by then and the Kessie transfer odds to Spurs sit at 4/1.
Spurs apparently do want the deal this month to ensure they get it, but it all depends on whether or not the board allow it.
