Jake Paul proved many doubters wrong when he managed to beat Tyron Woodley back in August via a split decision win in what was the former UFC champion's pro debut and Paul's fourth bout. Now, following Tommy Fury's injury, Woodley now gets another shot at beating the famous YouTuber when it seemed like that chapter was closed.

In the first fight, Paul did win it relatively convincingly in our eyes. The split decision didn't really make much sense as Paul won every round to us, landed more shots and ultimately, kept Woodley quiet throughout the entire fight. The ex-MMA start more or less kept himself quiet in one way, however, with the fact he's all but forgot how to throw a punch at this stage as in his last four UFC fights and his fight with Paul, he never pulled the trigger of that devastating right hand. Eventually, the first bout was scored 75-77, 77-75 and 78-74, and it's the latter one we agree with most.

Now, following a comfortable points win, Paul is 1/3 to win the fight for the second time. The rematch will be contested over eight rounds at a limit of 192 lbs under the cruiserweight division.

In reality, Paul just needs to do exactly what he did in the first fight: outbox the inferior boxer. Woodley can boast all the fighting experience, power, and technical ability as a mixed martial artist as he likes, but when it comes to boxing, it's never been his forte and even when Woodley won in MMA, it was through a one-off punch followed up by ground and pounds, or wrestling dominance.

Paul just needs to stay behind the jab, practice in the sweet science once again and he'll win simply because Woodley has just been too hesitant to throw a punch in his past five bouts. If he does, he can win, but we doubt he will again because something inside the man has switched since his defeat to Kamaru Usman and he doesn't even look there himself.

If Paul keeps on jabbing and keeping the distance as he is the longer, taller, and rangier fighter, he will win, and likely win comfortably. One thing the American shouldn't do, however, is go for the knockout. In reality, despite having a bit of power, he isn't that guy. What he is, however, is a boxer who has now three and a bit years of experience of hard work, compared to that of Woodley, who all but needed to hone in on a new skill.

If the 24-year-old is to win again, he should just follow the same method by winning the rounds and getting through to the final bell where he most likely has his hand raised. If Paul starts to get cocky and go for the knockout, Woodley could just catch him.

In terms of fighting, Woodley has been in horrific form for a number of years. In fact, since he defended his UFC welterweight crown against Darren Till in 2018, he's been dismantled by Kamaru Usman, schooled by Gilbert Burns and Colby Covington, and then chocked out in the first round by Luque in March this year. Then, add into this losing to a YouTube star with the most bogus professional record in existence, it's fair to say Woodley is even lucky to be fighting here for another payday.

There was a theme that carried itself throughout the first three of these defeats and then the loss to Paul: a lack of confidence and pressure. In truth, he's looked a distant fighter to what he once was for some time now, and looked constantly reluctant to engage, and even against a man with less than three years worth of experience, Woodley just refused to throw the big punch.

Then, when he did, the ex-UFC champ forced Paul onto the ropes as he stumbled backwards, but in very post-2017 Woodley fashion, he refused to follow it up and allowed his opponent of the hook; he cannot do this again. He simply cannot. Should he do so, Paul will distance the pace again and win the rounds, and ultimately, whenever the opening comes (and it will), Woodley has to do something he's barely done in the past five years: throw a punch!

His power is greater, his engine will be too and Woodley can likely just break the guard of Paul by merely throwing up with combinations. If he's gonna win, it's via a TKO/KO, simple.
