2019 Premier League Darts Betting Preview: Week 6

After an incredible night in Aberdeen, the 2019 Darts Premier League heads back to England and Nottingham for Week 6 of the competition. James Wade, Rob Cross and Michael van Gerwen all lead the way at the top of the table after five weeks with three wins each. With some intriguing contests this week, there can be plenty of changes to the table come the end of Thursday night.

Nathan Aspinall vs Michael Smith

Week 6 opens with Wildcard Nathan Aspinall taking on Michael Smith who, thus far, has been underwhelming in the Premier League. Smith sits 8th in the Premier League table at present having won just one of his five games, losing three of them in the process, including a 7=3 defeat to Rob Cross last time out. As for Aspinall, he will hope to replicate the form which saw him win the UK Open and £100,000 earlier this month. We are backing Smith to pick up the win here.

James Wade vs Mensur Suljovic

Table-topper James Wade will be looking to extend his good form in the Premier League on Thursday night when he faces Mensur Suljovic. Wade was in stunning form last week, averaging just under 110 when he whitewashed Daryl Gurney, winning 7-0 to add to his win against Michael van Gerwen the week before. As for Suljovic, he will be hoping to bounce back from a 7-3 loss suffered at the hands of Gerwyn Price in Aberdeen. Giving his recent form, Wade is our choice in this one.

Rob Cross vs Raymond van Barneveld

Raymond van Barneveld returns his Premier League swansong this week in Nottingham as he takes on Rob Cross. 2018 World Champion Cross has played well in the Premier League so far, taking three wins from his first five games and has hit the highest checkout of the tournament so far at 164. As for Barney, this doesn’t look like being the dream finish for him in the Premier League, with the legendary Dutchman still looking for his first win of the tournament after two draws and three defeats. Given their current form, Cross is the deserved favourite in this one.

Recommended Bet: Rob Cross -2.5 handicap at 4/5 with SkyBet – BET HERE

Gerwyn Price vs Michael van Gerwen

Third meets fourth in game four of Week 6 in the Premier League, with Gerwyn Price taking on Michael van Gerwen. Price is still unbeaten in the 2019 Premier League, having won two and drawn three of his five games so far and beat Mensur Suljovic 7-3 in Aberdeen last time out. van Gerwen meanwhile will be looking to get back to winning ways following last week’s dramatic 6-6 draw with Scottish favourite John Henderson last Thursday. With two big scorers taking part, expect plenty of 180s in this one.

Recommended Bet: Over 5.5 180s at 8/11 with SkyBet – BET HERE

Peter Wight vs Daryl Gurney

The night in Nottingham comes to a conclusion when two players with two wins to their name clash. Peter Wright picked up his second win of the competition last week against Raymond van Barneveld, winning 7-3 to move up to fifth in the table on six points. As for Daryl Gurney, he was thrashed 7-0 by James Wade in Aberdeen and will be hoping for a far improved performance this time around. Following last week’s excursions, we are siding with Wright in this one.
