Philadelphia Eagles @ Chicago Bears

In the final Wild Card matchup, the Chicago Bears host the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field. The Chicago Bears ended the season on top of the NFC North with a 12-4 record, as for the Eagles the finished in second in the NFC East with a 9-7 record. One advantage that the Eagles will have over all their opponents in the post-season is that they’re the defending Super Bowl Champions, which will give them the faith and belief to beat anyone.

Recent Form

The last time the Chicago Bears made the NFL post-season was ten years ago in 2010. They reached the NFC Conference Championship round, but the Green Bay Packers managed to beat them 21-14.

The Chicago Bears faced the Minnesota Vikings in their final game of the season and won 24-10 putting an end to the Vikings playoff hopes. Jordan Howard rushed for two touchdowns as he lead the Bears to a 12-4 record.

Mitchell Trubisky passed for 163 yards on 18/26 throwing. As well as scoring two touchdowns, Jordan Howard rushed for 109 yards on 21 carries, Tyler Gabriel lead the game in receiving yards with 61 on four receptions, but the receiver didn’t manage to get into the end zone.

The last time the Eagles made the NFL postseason they went on to win the whole thing. They faced the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl final and beat them 41-33.

The Philadelphia Eagles finished their season with a perfect result, beating the Washington Redskins 24-0. Nick Foles had an impressive performance throwing for two touchdowns, but it was the Eagles defence which impressed the most shutting the Washington offence down.

Nick Foles passed for 221 yards with one interception and two touchdowns on 28/33 throwing. Wendell Smallwood lead the game in rushing with 53 on 12 carries, Alshon Jeffery caught one touchdown with 59 receiving yards on five receptions.

Team News

DeAndre Houston-Carson, Aaron Lynch, Eddie Jackson and Bilal Nichols are all questionable for the Wild Card matchup with the Eagles. Dion Sims still remains on injury reserve.

Mike Wallace, Avonte Maddox, Wendell Smallwood, Sidney Jones, Jason Peters, Michael Bennett, Fletcher Cox, D.J. Alexander and Isaac Seumalo are all questionable for the Bears game. Carson Wentz still remains out for Philly.

We’re giving the edge to the defending Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles for this matchup. We think that their experience and the Bears lack of post-season experience will be a big factor on Sunday. Nick Foles has once again been called upon to step in for the injured Carson Wentz, yet people still have doubts about him so he will be out to prove them all wrong once again.
