Etiquette is often one of the more important aspects in tennis, particularly when it comes to serving.

Players are expected to wait until their opponent is ready to return their serve, whilst also informing their opponent if they intend to do an underarm serve. Bernard Tomic was recently in action against Nick Kyrgios, but didn’t take any of those unwritten rules into account.

Tomic defeated his Australian compatriot in straight sets this week as the pair both prepare for the upcoming Australian Open, but the victory came in extremely controversial circumstances.

With Tomic on match point and preparing to serve, he customarily took two balls before quickly whipping one over the net between his legs, whilst continuing to bounce the other ball in his hand.

Kyrgios was completely stunned by the move, being unable to return the serve and was subsequently defeated. It has sparked some mixed responses, with some believing that it was a disrespectful thing to do, while others aren’t too bothered given it was the polarising Kyrgios on the receiving end of it.

Watch below to see the incredible moment Tomic completely outwits his opponent, albeit in pretty unsporting fashion.
