WATCH: Old footage emerges of Dillian Whyte kickboxing

2018 was a great year for heavyweight boxer Dillian Whyte. The 30-year-old had three bouts last year and won them all, beating Australian Lucas Browne and long-time rival Dereck Chisora in brutal knockouts as well as a unanimous decision victory over former WBO champion Joseph Parker.

He is now keen on a rematch with the current IBF, WBO and WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and is the mandatory challenger for at least one of his belts. The two last fought back in 2015 when Joshua won with a seventh round knockout, but both men are certainly much better fighters now. It is a fight that could well happen too, with the other big heavyweights Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury likely to be engaged elsewhere in their anticipated rematch.

There was a time though when Whyte was a professional in another sports – kickboxing. He was actually pretty successful at it too, he was a two-time British heavyweight kickboxing champion after winning the BIKMA Super Heavyweight British Championship title and also was the European K1 champion. He was also ranked number one in the UK for five years in his weight category of 95kg.

He finished his kickboxing career to try his hand at MMA, but had a strong 20-1 winning record from his time in the sport. And some old footage has been doing the rounds on social media in the last 24 hours of Whyte during one of his kickboxing bouts. It is interesting to see him using the different skillset needed for the sport, and if you watch until the end you will see him win by TKO.
