FA Cup action returns as Leeds take on Plymouth at Elland Round in the fourth round. This tie is one of four all-Championship affairs.

Promotion hopefuls Leeds take a weekend off from their Championship schedule as they look to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup. Their opponents Plymouth will be hoping to provide an upset as they take on their league rivals.
Leeds sit fourth in the table, four points being second place Southampton. They are bidding to make an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last season. Plymouth are currently in 15th, in no immediate danger of being dragged into a relegation battle, but also a long ways off competing for a play-off place.
Both teams took care of lower league opposition in the previous round, as Leeds dispatched of League One side Peterborough 3-0, whilst Plymouth beat League Two Sutton United 3-1.
Plymouth have already done much better in this competition this season than they did last, when they were thrashed 5-1 at Grimsby in the first round. However, they have made the fourth round in three of the last four seasons. This includes taking Chelsea to extra time at Stamford Bridge in 2022, in which they eventually lost 2-1.
The hosts made it to the fifth round last season, something they have achieved just three times since 2004. They fell 2-0 at fellow Premier League side Fulham. Leeds have only won the competition once in their history, in 1972.
Daniel Farke’s Leeds side are amongst the top teams in the Championship in terms of goal scoring. Their 50 goals is only bettered by two teams, Leicester and Southampton. They are also up there defensively, only Leicester have conceded less than their 26 goals.
Three players have scored double digits so far, with Crysencio Summerville’s 12 goals leading the way. Daniel James and Joel Piroe have contributed 10 goals each.
Argyle are not too far behind in terms of scoring output, as they have scored an impressive 47 league goals in the league, despite their lowly position. Their main issue has been keeping the ball out of the net at the other end, as they have also conceded 47 goals. In their last eight games in all competitions, they have scored 19 and let in 15.
Morgan Whittaker has scored 16 goals this season for the visitors, 15 of them in the league. This tally puts him second in the Championship scoring charts, just one behind Blackburn’s Sammie Szmodics. They will be looking to the striker to get past the Leeds defence.
This will be the 41st meeting between the two sides, and Leeds have come out on top 20 times. Plymouth have won 10 games, whilst the other 10 ended in draws. In the reverse fixture this season, Daniel Farke’s side were 2-1 winners, with James and Joel netting first half goals before Ben Waine scored a late consolation. This was their first game against each other in all competitions since 2007.
All but one meeting has been a league fixture, the exception being an FA Cup tie in February 1973 in which Leeds won 2-1.
