Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Kaoru Mitoma is a name that will interest many sides across world football, having impressed for the Seagulls since joining from Kawasaki Frontale in August 2021.

The 26-year-old Japan international has been subject to interest from several Premier League clubs following an impressive 2022/23 campaign where he recorded 10 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions - averaging a goal contribution every 161 minutes, helping Brighton to a sixth-place finish and an FA Cup semi-final in the process.

Manchester City are said to be in the market for a new winger this summer following the departure of Riyad Mahrez to Al-Ahli on top of the fact that the Cityzens will be looking to add some extra creativity to their side following Ilkay Gundogan’s exit to Barcelona and Kevin De Bruyne’s recent injury woes.

Mitoma would undoubtedly be a good fit for City who had at one point considered making a move for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise. The 26-year-old is known for tricky dribbling, while also being highly praised for having excellent composure both in front of goal when shooting or assisting teammates - traits which are needed to play under the likes of Pep Guardiola.
