Who Will Finish as PL Top Scorer?

As the season draws to a close there is still so much to be decided, though the title looks increasingly likely to end up in the hands of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, the final relegation place, the Europa league spots, and the race for the top four is still all to play for.

As well as this there is still an ongoing battle for the Golden Boot. A couple of months ago it looked obvious that Mohamed Salah would get his third Golden Boot, however the Egyptian has stuttered in recent weeks, and Tottenham's Son Heung-min has caught up to just two goals behind him.

Son has three games left, a North London Derby against Arsenal, followed by two games against a struggling Burnley side, and already relegated Norwich City. These games at home to Burnley and away to Norwich are the reason that Son would ideally have a good chance of catching Salah, as realistically, Son should have a field day in Norwich, and he has scored several goals against Burnley in the past, including that goal of the season contender and eventual winner of the FIFA Puskas award, in 2020.

Salah started the season on fire, and was regarded as one of the very best in the world, however, in recent weeks he has found himself on the bench, for various reasons, and has only scored six goals in his last 15 games.

Additionally, Liverpool have one less game to play than Spurs, as they face Wolves and are away to Southampton.

Though it is not unlikely for Salah to add to his tally of 22 League goals across these two games, there is no guarantee that he will start in the league, especially if City win the title before the last game, as Liverpool have an FA Cup final this weekend, followed by a Champions League final in just over a fortnight against Real Madrid.

Therefore, Klopp may rest his big players in the league games, in order to have a fresh squad for the cup competitions.
