Paul Merson I'm a Celeb - 1/3

Emerging as a surprise favourite to be a contestant this year is Paul Merson.

The former Arsenal midfielder is best known nowadays for his work on Sky Sports, appearing as a pundit on the weekend show, Soccer Saturday.

Recognised for his rather eccentric views on the game, it's fair to say that the Englishman is an entertaining watch on our screens. Never afraid to speak his mind on certain players and mangers, Merson is quite the direct speaker and would no doubt be a large personality in the jungle itself.

We have seen football figures do well on the show in the past, with Harry Redknapp being crowned the champion back in 2018.

At 1/3, Merson is Sky Bet's lowest price to appear on I'm a Celeb later this year.

Ricky Hatton I'm a Celeb - 1/3

Another popular British sportsman coming at 1/3 is Ricky Hatton.

'The Hitman' is one of Britain's most famous boxers, having won the IBF, Ring and IBO lineal light-welterweight titles during his career. He was regarded as quite the national hero during his peak, remaining undefeated until he faced Floyd Mayweather back in 2007 and taking with him countless British fans to Las Vegas.

It wasn't just Hatton's dynamic boxing abilities that won the heart of the nation either, but also his bold and exciting persona. Thousands of British fans would flock to venues in America to watch the fighter in action, with his nickname of 'The Pride of Hyde' epitomising the love that he felt from his home fans.

Inside the jungle, Hatton's lively charisma would certainly go down a treat with his fellow campmates. Already possessing a large fanbase, the former champ would certainly be one of the favourites to win the show, should he step into the Australian jungle.

Karl Phillips (Bootlegger) I'm a Celeb - 5/1

If you are a part of the online world of football and regularly check social media for your sport comedy needs, you'll be aware of the man they call 'Bootlegger'.

Karl Phillips, aka Bootlegger, has taken the football social media world by storm with his love for fish n' chips, cheap lager and love for National League side, Wrexham.

With just shy of 270k Twitter followers - 200k more than his beloved Wrexham - Bootlegger will be cheered on all the to Australia, should he enter I'm a Celeb.

Right now, the hilarious media personality is 5/1 to go in the jungle later this year.

Wes Nelson I'm a Celeb - 7/1

Moving onto some of Sky Bet's bigger prices now wirh reality star Wes Nelson at 7/1.

Viewers will recognise the name from Love island 2018, with the 21-year-old rising to fame from the hit TV show on ITV.

Wes was a popular contestant on Love Island, with many warming to his calm and calculated persona. Aside from a certain Laura. The Englishman gained a large fanbase from the show, with his Instagram page now boasting more than 1.5m followers.

Reality TV stars are frequent contenders on I'm a Celeb and without any controversial stories or background, Wes could easily find himself in the 2020 lineup and perhaps one of the favourites. Celebrities in his field are always keen to grow their brand across different platforms and he has already featured on ITV shows before.

Charlotte Crosby I'm a Celeb - 10/1

Another reality star finding their name on Sky Bet's list is Charlotte Crosby.

The 29-year-old has featured on plenty of TV shows during her career, but she is well known for being one of the 'originals' from one of MTV's most successful programmes, Geordie Shore.

Her profile has grown massively in recent years, with Charlotte opting to stay in the television business. She was the winner of Celebrity Big Brother back in 2016, before recently starring in her own show, 'The Charlotte Show'.

It's fair to say that the reality star has found big success whilst on-screen, making her 10/1 price to appear on I'm a Celeb quite the surprise.

I'm a Celebrity did, of course, feature former Geordie Shore contestant Vicky Pattison back in 2015, with the Geordie actually being crowned queen of the jungle.

Peter Crouch - 16/1

After looking into some of Sky Bet's outsiders to appear on I'm a Celeb, Peter Crouch's name at 16/1 is certainly one that sticks out.

The Englishman retired from football last year and has become a predominant member of the media since.

Throughout his career on the field, it's fair to say that you would have to go a long way in trying to find a fan that disliked Crouch. His height of 6ft 7 made him quite the hard figure to ignore, with his famous robot celebrations and comedic personality making him one of England's most-liked players of the last decade.

Having recently released a very successful podcast, it's clear that the former footballer is exploring different avenues off the field, all of which are going down very well with sports fans.

Would the jungle be a step too far though? At 16/1, it is a bigger price than most would likely expect.
