Making a stunning return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in April after a six-year absence, Cody Rhodes is back with a point to prove.

After defeating Seth Rollins at WrestleMania on his surprise return, Rhodes stated the reason why he decided to return on the episode of Raw, Rhodes opened the show with a promo in which he stated that his return to the company was due to his desire to “win the championship belt that his father never got to hold”, referring to the WWE Championship belt currently held by Roman Reigns.

With another match against Rollins scheduled for WrestleMania Backlash, winning that clash would be the first step on the road to winning the top belt in the company.

Rhodes is previously a 2-time Intercontinental Champion, a 3-time WWE tag-team champion and a 3-time World tag-team champion and with this previous experience in winning belts, can Rhodes now make the step up to become the top dog in the company?

One of the up-and-coming stars in WWE, the 6ft, 230lb former American football player is one to watch over the coming years.

With the power and strength to defeat most opponents, and history on his side with family members who are WWE legends, it’s likely we could see Breakker as the face of WWE in the near future.

Breakker comes from wrestling royalty, with a legendary tag team, The Steiner Brothers, Rick and Scott, his father and uncle respectively. And he has shown his title credentials already, as he is currently the reigning NXT Champion, with his current reign being the 2nd time he has had the belt. So, with continued impressive performances on Raw and a strong defence of his NXT title, he could be one that is pushed to a surprise win at the Royal Rumble.

The Rock has previously won the Royal Rumble, winning the 2000 edition in Madison Square Garden, where he last eliminated Big Show to earn himself a match for the championship belt at that year’s WrestleMania.

After leaving the company in 2004, he reappeared 7 years later and began feuds with John Cena and CM Punk for the honour of the company’s top belt. But since then, he has since reduced himself to sporadic guest appearances, preferring to focus on his burgeoning acting career. But with many WWE legends coming back for returns in recent years, could Rock do the same?

The Royal Rumble is known for surprise entrants every year, so could he be one of those surprise entrants? If he was, it’s likely he would be the winner of the match.

Scot Drew McIntyre has been one of the most successful superstars in WWE ever since his return to the company in 2017, where he is now a firm favourite of fans and backstage. But it wasn’t always like that - McIntyre embarrassingly was fired in 2014.

Having reportedly been personally signed by chairman Vince McMahon, it was expected that McIntyre would go on to great things in WWE, but he was released from his contract after the creative team stated that they had no use for him – he was subsequently fired. But he was bought back in 2017 after many years on the independent circuit, where he quickly became a tag-team champion.

McIntyre then went on to win the Royal Rumble in 2020, which gave him a title match at WrestleMania 36, which he went on to win. So, could he repeat the trick again and win another Royal Rumble?

One of the most important and talented performers for WWE of the last decade, Seth Rollins has been a 2-time WWE Champion, a 2-time Universal Champion, 2-time Intercontinental Champion, 1-time United States Champion, a 6-time tag-team champion, and a Money In The Bank winner during that time.

Rollins has been one of WWE’s most consistent and reliable performers, being central to many of the company’s most notorious and important storylines and feuds. And since his return to the company following a few months out due to the birth of a child, he has been thrust straight back into feuds for titles, with his most recent against the returning Cody Rhodes.

With another Royal Rumble soon on the way, he is one of the favourites, as Rollin’s matches are full of quality, and he is able to make the feuds he is involved in believable and of high quality. And with a previous win in the 2019 version of the Royal Rumble, he should not be counted out.
