Michael van Gerwen will enter the PDC World Championship as both the favourite to lift the trophy and the only man at under EVENS (5/6) to reach the final of the competition out of every player attending at Alexandra Palace.
At the same time, the Dutchman comes into the 2021 PDC World Championship as the world ranked number 1 in the Darts World Rankings, a position he has been familiar with ever since his first World Championship win back in 2014. Ever since then, 'Mighty Mike' has gone onto win darts' most prestigious title in 2017 and 2019, whilst he also finished as the runner-up to Peter Wright in last year's World Championships.
Despite the turmoil of 2020, van Gerwen has still managed to bag himself a few titles and keep up this reputation as the world's best darts player by winning the UK Open, the Players Championship Finals, and, most recently, reaching the last 16 of the World Matchplay.
Van Gerwen remains the man to beat at any tournament and he is the favourite once more to take home a fourth World Championship at 9/4, whilst he is the only player in the competition who is under EVENS to reach both the quarter-finals (8/15) and the final (5/6).
We're backing the 31-year-old to, at the very least, reach the final, which you can claim here at 5/6 in your bet slip now.
