On Saturday, Arsenal host Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in a battle of seventh versus 16th.
The Gunners will be coming into this match looking to bounce back from disappointing back to back defeats against Everton and Manchester United, where they were beaten 2-1 and 3-2, having initially taken the lead in both matches. Prior to these losses, Mikel Arteta’s side had beaten Newcastle United 2-0, but were hammered 4-0 at Liverpool following a narrow 1-0 victory over Watford.
Both teams have scored in three of Southampton’s last four matches, have drawn 1-1 and 2-2 versus both Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City. Like Arsenal, the Saints were also hammered 4-0 at Liverpool, as well as narrowly losing out 2-1 to Norwich after a good 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in early November via a third-minute goal by Adam Armstrong.
