Whilst the top scorer and title winner for the Bundesliga 2019/20 season looks set in stone, the battle for the top four is anything but that. Up top, Bayern are all but guaranteed a top four spot, with the gap now six points between them and Gladbach in fourth.
Plus, the gap between the Bavarians in first and Leverkusen in fifth is just eight points, which tells you all you need to know about the race for the top four in the Bundesliga. Indeed, Dortmund and Leipzig, whilst setting their sights on the title, are just four and three points ahead of Leverkusen, meaning even they can easily slip out in due course.
With this said, however, Paddy Power put Dortmund at 1/200 to stay within the top four at the end, whilst Leipzig are also 1/200. However, things are very different between Gladbach and Leverkusen in the battle between fourth and fifth.
Gladbach's early title challenge has quickly eradicated after a poor run of form around the winter. Since then, the club have plummeted down into fourth, where they are just two ahead of Leverkusen when action resumes. Now, odds are priced at 2/5 for the Foals to remain in the top four at the end, and only time will tell if this suspension has halted their form once more.
As for Leverkusen, the club are in fifth, two off fourth and only three off Leipzig in third. With this said, combined with the talents of Kai Havertz and Kevin Holland, it's easy to forge an argument for Die Werkself to charge for the top four.
Regardless how you see it, the battle between fourth and fifth is as close as it gets ahead of the Bundesliga return, and you simply cannot rule out a drop outside of the top four from Dortmund of Leipzig. Elsewhere, Schalke are 12 points off Gladbach down in sixth, and their 100/1 price is certainly justified.
