In modern times, Ligue 1 and Paris Saint-Germain have become synonymous.
The French club have won seven of the last eight league titles, reigning unprecedented domination over their homeland.
Such superiority transpired when Qatari businessman, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, took charge of the club back in 2011. Way over a billion euros has since been pumped into the squad, establishing a side that no other team in the division can compete with.
There has, however, been one piece missing from the PSG project - the Champions League. The club have never got their hands on Europe's most illustrious prize, with their eliminations in recent years creating an unwanted reputation of failure, within the French capital.
As we seem to say every season though, is this finally their year?
