As the undefeated fighter and reigning champ, it isn't a surprise to see Kamaru Usman open up as the favourite. At 2/5 though, his price may be shorter than first predicted, but during his time in the UFC, he has shown no weaknesses.
Eight of his eleven victories in the organisation have come via unanimous decision, with his cardio and output being off the charts. This was most epitomised, like Burns, during his win over Woodley, but also his through fifth round stoppage of Colby Covington.
Usman showcased that he possesses power in the championship rounds, a trait that can be utilised with his striking, but also grappling. Going to ground in this fight will likely be the route taken by the NCCA Division II wrestling gold medalist.
Burns comes in at 7/4, with his underdog status expected. This will be his third fight in just five months, and question marks will be raised about this quick turn around. He sustained little damage against Woodley, but preparations for a title fight will take a huge toll.
He's an aggressive fighter who will want to close the distance and push Usman's back to the cage - will this style be too much given his recent time inside the cage? It's certainly going to be an intriguing watch.
