After 'breaking the internet' with their first boxing match in August 2018, the highly-anticipated rematch between YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul has finally been announced.
Talks have been ongoing between the two internet phenomenons for over a year, with their supposed rematch falling through last February. It's been a frustrating period for their millions of fans, who have been eager to see the two celebrities enter the ring again and finally settle their long-existing beef.
Although the rematch seemed inevitable, nobody could have foreseen the circumstances in the way the upcoming fight would be structured. This is in relation to Matchroom Boxing's affiliation of the event, with Eddie Hearn being the fight's lead promoter. The fight will now be streamed live on DAZN for spectators around the world.
So, with everything put into place, the betting odds for the occasion have now been released. We've taken a look into BetVictor's prices and markets below.
The story so far
For those unfamiliar with the background details of the upcoming event, both KSI and Logan Paul are two of YouTube's biggest stars, sharing over 39 million subscribers between them. In August 2018, they put on the 'biggest white collar boxing fight ever', with the occasion being labelled 'the biggest internet event in history'.
With a sold out Manchester Arena (21,000 tickets) and 1.05 million pay per view buys, the fight that was streamed on YouTube was dubbed a financial success. Priced at £7 in the UK and $10 in USA, the event became the largest non-professional boxing match of all time, with total revenue being reported at around the £10m mark.
From an entertainment perspective too, fans were certainly satisfied, with many other big name internet stars fighting on the undercard. KSI and Logan Paul were the main event, with the fight resulting in a 'controversial' draw, with two of the judges failing to split the two men. One judge did have KSI up 58-57, but the eventual result has left it poised perfectly for the upcoming rematch.
When and where is the rematch?
The first fight was held in Manchester, England, due to KSI being the existing YouTube champion and him wanting to fight on home soil. The upcoming rematch will, however, be held in the Staples Centre, Los Angeles on November 9th.
Similarly to the first event, the venue hosts approximately 21,000 fans, with Hearn expecting it to be another sell out occasion. Prices for the fight range from $40 upwards, with some VIP tickets going in the region of $500+.
KSI odds to win
Despite being the YouTube Boxing Champion, KSI was the slight underdog going into the first fight. The best market price was 1/1 for him to win, predominantly due to Logan being the heavier and taller man.
It's a similar story this time around too, with BetVictor having the Englishman down at 13/8 to win the bout outright. When the markets were initially opened, KSI came in at 5/4, but his price has drifted in recent weeks.
This may come as a surprise to some bettors, particularly when you consider that not a single judge in Manchester had Logan Paul up to win the first fight. His underdog status does, however, come from the fact that he was slightly rocked in the opening 2 rounds.
KSI started rather slowly, but eventually grew into the bout with his superior endurance giving him the edge in the latter stages. Particularly in the final round, the Englishman had Logan in trouble, with many suggesting that the fight could have been stopped if the round lasted just a minute longer.
His underdog status won't rock his confidence though, with KSI being the more experienced fighter. At 13/8, his loyal fans may fancy his chances at this outside price.
Logan Paul odds to win
Entering into the ring at 4/7, Logan Paul has been made the slight favourite to win the bout on November 9th. Since the betting markets have been open, Paul has proudly held this tag, having been priced up with initial odds of 4/5. His small drop in price has likely come from a flurry of punts on his name, with the vlogger looking significantly larger than his opponent.
When looking at the two fighters on paper, this won't come as a shock to fans, due to the American's clear height and power advantage. Logan is 2 inches taller than the 'Nightmare', with this factor being highlighted in the opening couple of rounds in their first fight.
Standing behind the jab, Logan maintained the distance well against KSI and frustrated his opponent into trying to force an opening. There can be no denying the American's strong shot, landing some clean hits in the process too. His label as the favourite also coincides with the fact that the two fighter's won't be wearing head-guards this time round, a factor that arguably saved KSI in those opening rounds.
As the harder hitter, many are predicting this point to sway into the 'Maverick's' favour, making a win via TKO very likely. Although he is the outright favourite, Paul's price at 4/7 still has the potential for a decent return. Punters will just be hoping that he can maintain the same level of energy and composure as we saw in the first fight over the distance.
KSI vs Logan Paul draw odds
With neither fighter wearing head-guards, Hearn has promised that we will be seeing a knockout in the fight. Due to both KSI and Logan Paul being inexperienced professionals, there is a high chance that we will see such a result, with neither man being used to dealing with such heavy blows.
This factor therefore makes another draw relatively unlikely. With BetVictor, a draw is being priced up at 9/1. Over just 3 minute 6 rounds, this isn't entirely out of the question, but we know that both men will be keen to get that KO victory.
Clearly, the prospect of a draw sets up for a big potential return, but for good reason too. With no head guards and both men eager to get one over the other, we could be set for another frantic affair.
KSI vs Logan Paul knockout odds
The bookmakers are heavily favouring one man to get the job done by TKO/KO - Logan Paul. Currently, the best market price for Paul to win by this method is 13/10. As mentioned, the chances of seeing a KO are looking very likely, predominantly due to each fighter's lack of experience with the lighter gloves.
During phases of the first fight, there were frantic moments with both men aggressively throwing punches and without the head guards, we could have seen one of them hit the canvas. This time around, Paul's power is clearly been acknowledged by the betting markets.
At 4/1, KSI is being considered a big underdog to win via TKO/KO. The Englishman's success in the inaugural fight came in the latter rounds, but not many are predicting the fight to go the distance this time around. Most likely, his game-plan will be similar this time around, where he will look to tire Paul out again.
If he executes this approach with similar fashion, a late round stoppage cannot be ruled out. Can he upset the odds in the most emphatic fashion possible?
Odds to win via decision
This isn't the ending that everyone will be tuning in for, but there is always the possible scenario that the fight goes the distance again, despite Hearn's wishes. One judge gave the fight in favour to KSI in Manchester last year but yet, the 'Nightmare' is currently priced at 10/3 to get the decision victory.
This doesn't make him the underdog in this betting market though, as his American opponent has also been given the same odds. Clearly, the thought of this fight actually going past 6 rounds is being overlooked by many, hence the larger price with the decision selections.
