League Two leaders Cambridge United make the trip to the North West to face a struggling Barrow side who sit ominously close to the relegation zone this weekend.
Cambridge have made a very positive start to 2021 after a stuttering run through November and December, earning four wins and two draws from their last six. Even though the goals have dried up slightly for the league’s top scorer Paul Mullin, the frontman has continued to contribute with assists for Mark Bonner’s men during January, and former Irish international Wes Hoolahan’s class has shone through in a league which is clearly below his level, even at 38.
After picking up just two points from eight games in late 2020, Barrow have recovered slightly to move out of the relegation zone, but they still sit 22nd and will face a stern test in the form of the league leaders. Out of the 11 head-to-head encounters, Cambridge have won nine, and lost only once, 12 years ago.
Our tip is for Cambridge to take three points from Holker Street this Saturday, and you can back them at odds of 9/5 with Sky Bet.
