The former Paris Saint-Germain sporting director, Antero Henrique, is currently the favourite to become Manchester United’s director of football. The Portuguese man is extremely talented at his job and could prove to be very beneficial to the structural change at United, which many have called for.
Henrique was appointed as the director of football at Porto in 2005 and gained a great reputation as he helped sign star players such as Radamel Falcao in 2009 and James Rodiguez in 2010. As well as this, he has been exceptional at offloading players for worthy prices, such as the sale of Anderson to United for around £28m.
The most significant moment for Henrique, however, was over at PSG, where he was crucial in luring Kylian Mbappe to the club amid the pressing Real Madrid interest. This would be important for United, who have struggled to lure big-name players this season such as Jadon Sancho, and such a director of football could be the missing key.
Currently, Antero Henrique is 4/11 odds of becoming the next director of football at Manchester United.
