Lincoln City have confirmed their promotion to League One, with a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham Town at Sincil Bank enough to get them over the line.
The Imps became the first club in the entire English Football League to achieve promotion this season, with the draw moving them 14 points clear of fourth place MK Dons with just 12 left to play for.
It has been an absolutely outstanding season for Danny Cowley and his side. They have taken League Two by storm, winning 23 of their 42 fixtures so far and losing just four which is some effort. They have scored 73 goals in the process, whilst conceding just 38.
Lincoln are also on the verge of winning the League Two title. Second placed Bury sit 10 points adrift of them which means that just one win from the Imps' last four matches would secure first place.
Cowley has done a remarkable job with them, initially bringing them up from the National League just two seasons ago. He and his team have since adapted extremely well to League Two football, last season they were beaten in the play-offs but they have bounced back by strengthening further and are now on the verge of the title.
Now that yet another promotion is confirmed, fans will begin to wonder how well they will do in the division above. Can they again take it in their stride and compete towards the top end, or will they have to settle for simply trying to stay up and building from there?
Sky Bet have already released odds for Lincoln City's 2019/20 campaign and we have taken a look at them to see how well the bookmakers are predicting they will do in League One.
What odds are Lincoln to be promoted to the Championship?
Plenty of Lincoln City fans will be wondering if they can continue their momentum next season and perhaps even challenge for back-to-back promotions.
It is not a totally unrealistic ambition. Some argue that the level of football is not too different between League One and Two, making the jump is perhaps not as big as it is from League One to the Championship for example.
Lincoln should look to Luton Town for inspiration when it comes to taking League One by storm. The Hatters themselves were only promoted from League Two last season, but have enjoyed a remarkable campaign and are on the verge of winning the title at the first attempt.
That said, it would be fair to say that the bookmakers are not predicting the same fate for the Imps. Indeed Sky Bet are offering odds of a huge 20/1 for them to win the League One title in the 2019/20 season, whilst they are 6/1 just to be promoted.
This is a long way short of the odds being offered for Ipswich Town to be promoted next season, with the Tractor Boys being the only other club currently available in the market.
Odds suggest Lincoln will be amongst League One favourites for relegation
The more likely scenario for Cowley and his side next season will be to stabilise in the league above and hope to avoid being relegated straight back into League Two.
Indeed that has been the case for two of the other promoted clubs from last season in Accrington Stanley and Wycombe Wanderers. Both are fighting for their lives in the bottom half of League One, but as it stands are in position to survive and stay up.
The bookmakers odds suggest that they are predicting Lincoln to be in the lower reaches of the table next term. Sky Bet currently price them at 3/1 to be relegated, as opposed to the 20/1 odds offered for Ipswich in the same market which shows the huge contrast.
It will certainly be a tough challenge for the Imps, but considering the way they have earned promotion this season - losing just four times - they will believe that they are good enough to avoid the drop.
