It has been an incredible season for Norwich City who have now sealed promotion to the Premier League after a three-season absence. The Canaries confirmed a place in the Championship's top two positions after a 2-1 win against Blackburn Rovers saw them move eight points clear of Leeds United in third place.
Daniel Farke's side can also seal the title on the final day of the campaign. They take on play-off contenders Aston Villa away from home and know that if they avoid defeat it will be enough to finish first place, but a defeat would open the door for Sheffield United.
The Canaries have been outstanding this season, recovering from a disappointing start to surge up the table and into automatic promotion by the end of 2018. Their form since the turn of the year has been remarkable, showing excellent consistency to lose just once in 20 matches.
But how will Norwich City fare back in the Premier League in the 2019/20 campaign? We have taken a look at the bookmakers odds to see what kind of season they are predicting for the Canaries.
What odds are Norwich City to stay up in the Premier League?
Everyone will now be wondering whether Norwich City can make the step up to Premier League football. When they gained promotion in 2011 they enjoyed two mid-table finishes in the top flight before being relegated in their third season, but the last time they went up they came straight back down in 2016.
The Canaries faithful are confident that they are more likely to replicate their top flight form from their 2011 promotion, especially given that they have eclipsed both points from their last two promotion winning campaign's tallies this season.
They will undoubtedly need to add some Premier League experience to their ranks, with only goalkeeper Tim Krul having ever played in the top flight of their regular starting 11. But the likes of Teemu Pukki, who has scored 29 goals this season, Mario Vrancic and Emiliano Buendia all certainly have quality and potentially could do well next season.
Bookmakers currently think that Farke's side will have enough to survive in their first Premier League season too. Indeed bet365 are offering odds of 8/11 for the Canaries to stay up in the 19/20 campaign, as opposed to a price of 1/1 for them to be relegated. They are therefore giving them a better chance of surviving than fellow promoted side Sheffield United, who are odds-on to go straight back down.
Could Norwich surprise people in the Premier League?
Sometimes a promoted team can surpass all expectations in their first season in the Premier League, taking their opponents by surprise and picking up plenty of points. A prime example of this is Wovles who have taken the top flight by storm this season, taking 16 points from the so-called 'big six' clubs and they are even in line for a seventh placed finish.
Could Norwich, who are likely to follow in the Midlands club's footsteps as Championship winners, follow their lead? In truth it looks unlikely, given that Wolves have much more money and have had the help of super agent Jorge Mendes to sign the likes of Raul Jimenez, Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker.
Bookmakers also believe that Norwich are unlikely to replicate Nuno Espirito Santo's side next season, pricing them at 10/1 to finish in the top half of the table. They are much more convinced that instead they will be lingering in the bottom half, with odds of 1/16 available for that outcome.
They are also unlikely to pull off a huge shock like Leicester City managed a few years ago, with odds of 2000/1 currently on offer for them to win the league title.
