One of, if not the biggest story of the weekend will be the sensational return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford, when Manchester United entertain Newcastle in one of Saturday’s 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League. The Portuguese icon has been in training this week for United, fresh from breaking yet another goalscoring record when he became the all-time international top goalscorer with a brace against Republic of Ireland.
It’s highly likely that the new number seven will play, and probably start for United this weekend, putting him in the frame to return to the Premier League in typical Ronaldo fashion and finding the net. Newcastle have the daunting task of keeping Ronaldo and his new teammates in check, after not defending well so far this season.
The Magpies have conceded eight goals in their three opening league fixtures and will struggle against last season’s Serie A top scorer.
