In the opening game of the Bundesliga, new Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann faces a tough test as his injury-hit Bayern must face Borussia Monchengladbach at Borussia Park.
Bayern are expected to continue their dominance in Germany despite their poor preseason form and integration of their new coach. The squad has remained relatively the same, with the main arrivals being Omar Richards from Reading and Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig - two positive additions to their defence.
Gladbach will also go into this game with a new manager in Adi Hutter, while their squad has also stayed the same with the only arrivals being Manu Kone from Toulouse and Luca Netz from Hertha Berlin.
The games between these teams are one of the most exciting in the Bundesliga as in their two meetings last season, they provided an abundance of goals. In the first meeting, Gladbach triumphed 3-2 winners at Borussia Park after going two goals down within 20 minutes. Then, in the second game, Bayern trashed Gladbach 6-0 in a game where Robert Lewandowski moved in on Gerd Muller’s goal record as he scored a hat-trick.
