The two early pace-setters face off in the game of the weekend on Sunday night, as second placed AC Milan host Napoli at the San Siro. Going 12 unbeaten at the start of the season, Milan have recovered after two frustrating defeats where they lost 4-3 away at Fiorentina followed by a 3-1 humbling at home to Sassuolo.
Despite a spate of injuries, two wins followed by a salvaged point against Udinese thanks to a 90th-minute equaliser from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which now leaves Milan just one point off top and their city rivals, Inter Milan.
Napoli, on the other hand, seem to be slipping away in the gripping title race as their own injury crisis seems to have derailed their charge for a first Scudetto since 1990. Just one win in their last six, including costly defeats to fellow title challengers Inter and Atalanta means Luciano Spaletti’s men have dropped from first to fourth and now lie four points behind Inter.
With Ibrahimovic still in fine scoring form, netting seven goals in his 10 games so far this season, we think a home win and the Swede to score is our bet here.
