Brandon williams

The Manchester-born left-back impressed in his inaugural breakthrough season last year but after the arrival of Alex Telles from Porto in the summer and the continued form of of Luke Shaw has seen the young full-back limited to just eight appearances in all competitions.

A loan move is more likely than a permanent switch for the left-back, given how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likes to build on local youth and Sheffield United and Everton are reportedly interested.

The Blades, famous for utilising a 3-5-2 formation with a high emphasis of their play on wing-backs and overlapping centre-halves may be a destination that could see Williams flourish. A positive short loan spell could see real growth in a player that is still only 20, an outcome which would only see Manchester United benefit, either financially, if the club are willing to cash in, or gaining a much-improved player with much more Premier League experience.

Potential destination: Sheffield United, Everton

Odion Ighalo

The Nigerian striker managed to complete his dream move to Manchester United last January moving on loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua. Ighalo started his Old Trafford career with a flurry of goals which saw him net five in eight appearances in both the Europa League and FA Cup.

Despite impressive form in the cup competitions against weaker opposition, Ighalo struggled to carry his form over to the Premier League recording not a single goal in 11 appearances, albeit most of them being off the bench. Now, with Edinson Cavani's importance and superiority clear for all to see, there seems to be no real point in Ighalo being at the club.

The boyhood Manchester United fan looks all but set to return to China at the end of the month and, in truth, it makes sense for everyone involved.

Likely destination: Shanghai Greenland Shenhua

Phil Jones

A man who was once predicted to be one of United's greatest ever players by Sir Alex Ferguson. However, Phil Jones has now made just two Premier League appearances in the last two seasons and you do have to jog your memory a little these days to remember that he is still, in fact, a United player.

In fairness to Ferguson, if he had remained at the helm, Jones could have been one hell of a player, as back when he made this prediction in 2013, the England international was just 21, playing in a variety of positions in defence and midfield and was looked at to be a future captain for club and country.

However, nowadays, Jones has not and will not likely feature in another United squad again, unless there are injuries to a number of United's first team defenders. It is also important to remember that Jones is still only 28, and could still have a bit to offer one club, should he avoid injury.

Although, avoiding injury for him is near impossible it seems and, in truth, he just doesn't look good enough to be cutting it at a top Premier League team anymore.

Marcos Rojo

Sergio Romero’s Argentine compatriot Marcos Rojo also looks likely to follow him out the exit door at Old Trafford with reports suggesting they could both make a switch to Boca Juniors.

After being completely frozen out of the first team picture in recent years, it is no surprise to see Rojo on the cusp of leaving. Despite not being a favourite of Solskjaer's, under both his predecessors Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, Rojo amassed over 100 appearances for United and helped win both Europa League and FA Cup along the way.

After recently turning 30, the centre-back will look to secure a move that will come with much needed playing time. Rumours have circulated over interest from Boca Juniors and a return to his native Argentina, but Premier League duo Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton have both been rumoured to have an interest.

In reality, this is another move that make sense for everyone involved, given how Rojo is not just far away from the first team, but he has reportedly been training away from the first team for a number of months.

Potential destination: Boca Juniors, Wolves, Everton

Sergio Romero

A player at the opposite end of their career is the experienced Sergio Romero.

The Argentine keeper, who has been capped 96 times for his country, may finally leave Old Trafford after five years. Romero has not played this season after being replaced by the returning Dean Henderson from a two-year loan at Sheffield United, and the cult hero at United has not received at squad number this season.

The experienced stopper will have a number of suitors for his signature after returning an impressive clean sheet record in his time at Old Trafford, which equates to an astonishing 31 in his first 50 games. Romero, himself, seems to have his heart set on playing after being used as an understudy for the last few seasons.

Romero reportedly had a move to Everton fall through in the summer window but a move to the Toffees now seems unlikely after their acquisition of Robert Olsen from Roma.

A return to his native Argentina looks more likely with Boca Juniors, although he may be wanted by clubs in Italy, where he was at prior to United.
