Brentford have already made an inquiry to sign the Nottingham Forest academy graduate, Brennan Johnson, with it being suggested that they would be willing to pay £15m. Forest have, however, suggested the west London side would have to break their transfer record of £17.5m which was spent on Kristoffer Ajer last summer to sign the talented winger.
The stats for Johnson highlight why Brentford are highly interested. He has provided 10 goal involvements so far this season, six more than Brentford's current starting winger, Sergi Canos, has provided so far this Premier League season.
Johnson’s pass success rate is also higher than Canos can offer, 70% compared to Canos’ 63%, suggesting that Johnson would be able to link up better with the likes of Bryan Mbuemo and Ivan Toney in the final third. This could be vital for the Bees as goals have started to dry up, only finding the back of the net four times in their last six games, leading to Frank’s side having only picked up 3 points out of a possible 18.
