On paper, the USA undoubtedly have the best team as the lowest-ranked player is Scottie Scheffler and he is only ranked 21st in the world, and a total of eight of the 12 players in the team are in the top 10 in the world rankings.
So, we know that they are some of the best players in the world, but the world rankings are based on 72 holes of stroke play tournament golf, not 18 holes of match-play golf for which there are a lot of players that prefer and suit that style of golf more so. Furthermore, it makes it much more of a level playing field when it is just over 18 holes because all 24 of the players playing in the Ryder Cup have the ability to beat each other, but nevertheless, the USA are clear favourites to Outright win the Ryder Cup at 8/15.
The USA team have brought six rookies, so half of the players on the team are experiencing their first Ryder Cup, and this could work in their favour due to nine of the last 12 Ryder Cups being won by the European team, so none of these rookies will have any previous scars of being on losing teams
On the other hand, these rookies consist of 2x major champion Collin Morikawa, Tour Championship winner, Patrick Cantlay, and Olympic gold medallist, Xander Schauffele, so it’s tough to really label these players as rookies. Moreover, the Ryder Cup is nothing like any of these players have played in before and don’t know what to expect from the pressures from the team and the crowds, so it's important to note this year's Ryder Cup to end in a draw on points is 12/1.
