This Saturday sees Peterborough United take on fierce rivals MK Dons at London Road, with Posh looking to narrow the gap between themselves and the automatic promotion places.
Darren Ferguson’s side currently sit in fifth place, five points behind second-placed Hull with a game in hand having drawn 1-1 last time out in the league away at League One leader’s Lincoln City, despite going down to ten men following a Nathan Thompson red card with just under half an hour to go with the game tied at 1-1, which resulted in a penalty that the hosts missed through Jorge Grant.
Meanwhile, MK come into this game having not played a league fixture since 29th December following cup commitments and fixture postponements. Russell Martin’s side are four points above the relegation zone, as well as being eight points behind Posh, despite playing two more league games than their rivals.
Peterborough are the sixth top scorers in the league, with Jonson Clarke-Harris finding the back of the net for them 12 times in 19 League One appearances – no striker has scored more goals in the division. Their last clean sheet in the league came at home in a 1-0 win against Plymouth Argyle on 24th November.
