Australian Jamie Mullarkey will be looking to do better than countryman Megan Anderson did on the big stage at UFC 259 this weekend. However, Mullarkey has lost both of his fights since joining the UFC, with both bouts going the distance, but prior to this, just one of his 13 fights had gone past the second round.
Mullarkey's last four wins have come by KO and we expect the fight to be a stand-up contest that will suit him well, but with a lot of doubters to prove wrong, this could be the 26-year-old's last chance to show that he is good enough to remain in the UFC.
With the Australian the underdog, Khama Worthy is the bookies favourite, and he also has limited experience with just three fights in the UFC, two of which he has won, with his only loss coming to Ottman Azaitar.
"The Deathstar” picked up Performance of the Night on his UFC debut and now has the high-profile fight that many fighters dream of. With nine of his 14 wins coming via TKO/KO, Worthy will want to stay on his feet throughout this fight, although he has shown he is capable on the ground, with his last win coming by submission via guillotine choke.
The bookies have this one as the closest fight on the main card and it is easy to see why, with two unproven UFC fighters going head-to-head, both of which have an array of victory methods. With Mullarkey desperate for a win, we think it’ll be fireworks as both fighters looking to impress Dana White and will, therefore, go for an early stoppage.
However, we predict Khama Worthy to win by KO.
