Well, as of a few days ago, Ryan Mason is now the manager of the club he played the 2015 League Cup final for.
Since Mourino's departure, the ex-Spurs midfielder has taken the reigns as interim head coach at just the age of 29 where he would have been reaching his peak years and it truly is a sad story for this once-promising player.
Mason had to retire back in 2018, after a clash of heads with Gary Cahill in 2017 when he was at Hull City, and he moved almost immediately into a coaching role with Spurs, where he became the head of player development in 2020, before moving into the manager position when Mourinho left.
An operation after his clash with Cahill would leave Mason with 14 metal plates in his skull and 28 screws holding them in place. He also had 45 staples and now has a six-inch scar across his head.
