First Manager Sacked in the 2020/21 Premier League Season Odds

David Moyes West Ham

Scott Parker First manager to be sacked odds

Scott Parker led the Cottagers to promotion via the play-offs last season, but there were times throughout the Championship season where the club looked far from being able to compete in the Premier League.

Fulham appear to have taken a different approach to the last time that they were promoted to the top flight, where they spent a rumoured total fee of over £100m on new signings, whereas this season, they have conducted much smarter business.

However, Fulham have lost all three of their games so far this season, conceding a combined 13 goals against, Leeds United, and Aston Villa, scoring just three of their own.

Fulham will likely stick with Parker for the time being, but considering they sacked two managers in Slaviša Jokanović and Claudio Ranieri before February in the Premier League two seasons ago, Parker is always at risk.

The Fulham boss leads the way as the next manager to face the sack with odds of 2/1.

Jose Mourinho to be sacked odds

Jose Mourinho took over at Tottenham Hotspur following the collapse of Mauricio Pochettino early in last season, despite getting the club to the Champions League final just a few months prior to his dismissal. Ever since, the ex-Manchester United boss has struggled to get to grips with the Spurs squad and now sit with a loss, a draw and a win in the Premier League from three games.

Now, with no Champions League football and the slug of the Europa League to come, Mourinho is up against it to prove his worth at the club, and he must put up a fight on the top four front before Christmas.

It's simple these days with Spurs: get Champions League football. Anything else is a concern, as Pochettino found out, likewise with Tim Sherwood prior to that. If Mourinho can't cement a promising fight early on, he could be gone.

The 57-year-old's odds to be the first Premier League manager to be sacked are at 10/1.

PL Manager Sack Odds

RALPH HASENHÜTTL @ 20/1

David Moyes First manager to be sacked odds

Moyes started the season as one of the few managers who fans of their own team were not confident in. Last season, the ex-Everton man rejoined the Hammers and once again steered them to Premier League safety.

However, much of the West Ham faithful still feel as if Moyes is not the man to rebuild the squad and get them back into, at least, the top half of the table. The Scot was given the chance to finish what he started at the club but was hit with a terrible piece of luck as this fixture list gave the east London side one of the most difficult starts a club could ask for.

Tough fixtures against Arsenal and Wolves have past with a loss and a win, respectively. However, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs, Leicester City and even an EFL Cup game against high-flying Everton is set to come within the next 2 months.

A lack of investment is barely Moyes' fault, with the board's reluctancy to spend consistently the main reason behind such poor performances season after season. This could end up being Moyes' undoing and he is now the second favourite to be sacked first at 11/4.

Dean Smith First manager to be sacked odds

As far as Dean Smith is aware, he's done the job at Aston Villa by earning Premier League promotion and staying in the top-flight all within two seasons.

The 49-year-old looked like facing the drop for most of the season but wins against Arsenal, a League Cup final and a dramatic race on the final day, ultimately marked a progressive season for Villa.

No doubt, however, Smith will be under pressure to try and move the club forward in 2020/21, especially now Jack Grealish has committed his future to the club, whilst Ross Barkley has joined on a season-long loan.

It's almost a cert that Smith must comfortably keep Villa up next season, or face serious questions from the board. Simply put, Villa are too big to be flirting with the Championship once more and the fact Smith has already kept them up, doing so again is now the bare minimum.

The Englishman has odds of 20/1 to be the first PL manager out the door.

CHRIS WILDER TO BE SACKED FIRST ODDS @ 28/1

Steve Bruce to be sacked odds

It was a tough season for Steve Bruce in what was his debut campaign for a club he loves so much. For much of the season, the ex-Sunderland boss was bombarded about the potential sale of Newcastle United, which ultimately questioned his worth at the club if they found themselves with a dramatic windfall.

However, with the sale of the club falling through, Bruce is staying put and no doubt the eyes of the Magpies' following will all be on him, if they can't fight for the top half once more.

Newcastle were in abysmal form to close out the season of 2019/20, losing four of their last five games and if they carry this form into 2020/21, do not expect Bruce to be around at Christmas.

The signings of Ryan Fraser, Jeff Hendricks and Callum Wilson have already changed the fortune of the club, with each scoring early on in the campaign. Now, with these three players alongside the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Bruce has no excuse with a squad that is much improved from when he first took over.

A relegation fight early on, or just failure to progress from last season will put Bruce in the firing range, not long after his worth as their manager was front page news - the ex-Hull City manager is now 20/1 to be sacked next.

Frank Lampard to be sacked odds

Frank Lampard is arguing the most under-pressure manager in world football right now, considering the Chelsea boss has practically revamped his entire squad within one window.

More often than not, managers can blame their poor streak on how the squad 'isn't theirs', blaming managers of the past for poor recruitment. However, this is not the case for Lampard no more, who has signed some of Europe's very best in Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy, Kai Havertz and Malang Sarr within a single window.

In a nutshell, whilst clubs like United and Spurs have had to settle for one or two signings, the Blues have done what no team has ever done before: buy seven first team players who will likely take up most of the starting XI.

For this reason alone, such a drastic budget needs to be matched with trophies. A top four finish is now the absolute bare minimum for Lampard and the Englishman could even find himself out the door without a title charge by the new year.

The Chelsea boss is priced at 10/1 and the third favourite to be sacked first.

Premier League Sack Odds

SEAN DYCHE TO BE SACKED FIRST ODDS @ 12/1

Roy Hodgson to be sacked odds

Roy Hodgson has been getting an awful lot of stick from Crystal Palace fans, but it isn't quite justified in the grand scheme of things. The club's budget has been exceptionally slim, with no major signing bar Eberechi Eze in recent times, whilst keeping hold of Wilfred Zaha is an achievement in itself.

Following a 14th placed finish in 2019/20 and the second-worst run of form in 2020 from Premier League clubs, Hodgson's brilliant start was far from expected. However, considering that 14th finish is not much different to any other season, it's fair to say the Eagles need him to stay, and not approach the Frank de Boer-esque type managers instead.

The 3-1 win at Old Trafford will go a long way in this season and no doubt be one of the most memorable come May 2021. Now, Hodgson is priced at 10/1 to be the next manager sacked, but after such a great start, the odds have been significantly boosted since the opening day.

Slaven Bilic to be sacked odds

Despite being sacked in November 2017 during West Ham's Premier League season, Slaven Bilic still upholds an admirable record in the top flight.

The current West Brom manager led West Ham to a seventh-placed finish and broke several club records set in the Premier League era, including the highest number of points (62), most goals in a season (65), the first-ever Premier League positive goal difference (+14), the fewest games lost in a season (8), and the fewest away defeats (5).

Bilic's 1.33 points per game as Hammers boss remains the best of any other West Ham manager in the Premier League and the Croatian is already showing what he can do in the top flight with the Baggies.

Despite losing to Leicester City and Everton, Bilic's men led 3-0 against Chelsea and although the game ended 3-3, it was a look into his brilliance in this division. However, Bilic is sixth on the list to be sacked first with odds of 10/1.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be sacked odds

The idea of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer staying at United is seemingly based off two factors: he knows the club inside out and needs time to develop. However, time could be the biggest burden of the Norwegian's period at United, as the longer the season goes on, more doubt gets thrown into the mix regarding his capabilities as a manager.

It's simple with the Red Devils: win something or you're out. A second-place finish, League Cup and a Europa League didn't suffice for the great Mourinho, who Solskjaer has replaced. Now, if the gap continues to grow on the top two, it's tough to make an argument for him sticking around.

A 3-1 loss on the opening day was perhaps the worst start to a season in United's unrivalled Premier League history, and a weak performance away to Brighton & Hove Albion left more questions than answers.

Without a serious marker laid down on the top four before Christmas and a poor Champions League run, Solskajer could jump to the top of this list - he is now priced at 5/1 to be sacked by Christmas and 14/1 to be the first manager to go.
