Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be set to leave the Emirates Stadium after claims of a fallout with Gunners’ manager Mikel Arteta. The Gabonese striker was reportedly wearing the Spaniard’s patience thin before his late withdrawal against Brentford on the opening day of the season due to illness and this appears to have exacerbated the issue.
Aubameyang signed a three-year contract extension at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal were desperate to tie down the former Borussia Dortmund striker’s signature with his previous contract wearing down and many clubs interested, however, since signing this deal which now sees the 32-year-old earn a reported £13m per year, his form has been wayward, scoring just 10 league goals last season compared to the 22 he managed in both of the 2019/20 and 2018/19 campaigns.
