As the summer transfer window is set to reopen, Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is attracting a lot of potential buyers. One of those, in particular, is very keen to sign the Ghanaian national, going to great lengths to achieve that goal. Signing Partey, however, could be harder than it seems as Atletico is expecting more than £40 million for the player as his contract with the club states a £44.8 million release clause.

Gunners reportedly made a £22.5m bid for the midfielder, but Atletico has knocked that down leaving them to come up with other solutions. So being somewhat strapped for cash, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is, therefore, willing to also swap Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and Alexandre Lacazette for Partey as he’s looking to strengthen his central midfield this summer.

The player himself is keen to make a move to North London. Previously stating he fancies playing in the Premier League with Arsenal his first club choice and is hoping the two clubs could strike a deal soon. Atletico, however, is not done fighting yet, not wanting to part with the player just yet, and have reportedly offered the player a new contract. Though Partey might not take the bait, believing Aresnal to be the best club to continue his career.

As Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has told his club he wants to leave this summer, a lot of big clubs have been linked with the player. First in the queue is Arsenal, closely followed by Manchester United who would benefit most from signing the 27-year-old.

According to several sources, the best fit for Partey would actually be Manchester United as that’s where he would stand the best chance of success. Though Jack Grealish and James Maddison beat Partey to the top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s list this summer, the Ghanaian national could really address United’s midfield problems.

Though he’s been heavily linked with Arsenal, going as far as claiming it would be his top choice, many have stated those are just rumours. The player reportedly would not mind a chance to play in the Premier League joining United.

United odds to sign Partey are priced at 15/2.

Thomas Partey’s future remains to be unclear, with Atletico trying hard to offer him a new contract in which they’re willing to double his wages in order to keep him on. But meanwhile, Europe and the Premier League are calling with PSG among them eager to sign the midfielder to strengthen their midfield.

The player does not come cheap, but that won’t be an issue for money loaded PSG who are keen to meet any fee demands Atletico are putting on the table. The club is keeping a close eye on the 27-year-old who despite his contract with Atletico Madrid not expiring until 2023 is willing to make a move. Although, he’d prefer a move to London than to France.

However, PSG is currently still in the running for signing the Ghanaian as Arsenal’s bid to sign the Atletico Madrid midfielder got turned down, leaving an opening for Paris Sain-Germain to make their move. Forcing Arsenal to go into a bidding war for the player, which could push Arsenal out of the running.

Chelsea has entered the race to snatch up Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid. Tough they are not front runners in signing the player and are competing with Arsenal and Manchester United who’s odds are reportedly higher.

But Chelsea have apparently been keeping a close eye on Partey for a long while now, considering signing the player twice before but always finally deciding against making an offer for him. This mainly because the player was previously branded as inexperienced, but his quick rise has finally made him a target for many. A bid was considered last summer and did not go through due to Chelsea’s transfer ban at the time. And so, third time is the charm for Chelsea who is still looking to strengthen their midfield this summer.

One way that could happen for them is a swap offering Jorginho for Partey which is a move Chelsea fans stand behind. Taking to Twitter, fans have expressed their feelings on how keen they are for Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to make that deal. Chelsea’s odds to sign Partey are currently at 10/1.

Liverpool along with so many clubs has an interest in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey. Their interest dates all the way back to 2018 when they were on the verge of actually signing the Ghanaian national but backed out last minute. According to reports, they’re back in the running and are willing to bring the player in.

As Partey is set to leave Atletico and is not considering the new contract they’re offering him, the club is eager to get the best deal for the 27-year-old. They’ve gone as far as offering him to Liverpool in exchange for their midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain whom they’ve had their eye on for a while now. However, it is unclear whether Liverpool is ready to part with the England international.

Liverpool supporters have uttered mixed feelings about that deal, with some thinking it would be a brilliant move to bring in Partey that way. And others not being so keen on that deal claiming Liverpool already has a great number of excellent midfielders in the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and James Milner.
