Stockport to be promoted, Notts County to finish in top 7, Doncaster to finish in top half & Harrogate to be relegated - 22/1

Stockport are another side that are expected to be in contention for automatic promotion, having agonizingly finished fourth in League Two last campaign, while losing in the play-off final to Carlisle United. The Hatters have made some big additions to their squad, such as Nick Powell on a free transfer from Stoke City.

Notts County are expected to be in the hunt following last season’s heroics in the National League. Luke Williams’ men have made some impressive acquisitions for the 2023/24 campaign, having added David McGoldrick, Dan Crowley, Jodi Jones, Will Randall and Aidan Stone to their squad.

Doncaster will be hoping for an improved campaign following their disappointing 18th-placed finish in League Two last season. Rovers have added the likes of Ian Lawlor, Richard Wood, Jack Senior, George Broadbent, Jamie Sterry, Joe Ironside and more to their squad in an attempt to have a much-improved campaign.

Harrogate Town are expected to be a relegation candidate in the 2023/24 season having finished 19th in League Two last time out with the fourth-worst defensive record in the division, leaking 68 goals.

Wrexham to win the League & Crawley to Finish Bottom - 25/1

Wrexham are the pre-season favourites to win the league following their impressive National League points tally in 2022/23. The Welsh club have managed to extend Ben Foster’s contract at the Racecourse Ground and will be expected to add to their already strong squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Crawley Town finished in 22nd place last season and on paper, are the favourites to be relegated due to the strength of the newly-promoted sides. The Red Devils have allowed some experienced players to depart, such as Tony Craig, Jordan Mutch, Kwesi Appiah, Anthony Grant and Brandon Mason without adequately replacing them.

Mark Hughes’ side have made an attempt to increase their goal outputs by signing the likes of Tyler Smith on a free transfer, as well as Kevin McDonald, Clarke Oduor and Alex Pattinson.

MK Dons will be expected to be in and around the play-off places following their relegation from League One. Graham Alexander will be hoping that the likes of Mo Eisa and Jonathan Leko will be in good goalscoring form throughout the 2023/24 season.

Wrexham and Stockport to be promoted & AFC Wimbledon and Crewe to be relegated - 200/1

Wrexham and Stockport are two of the pre-season favourites for promotions due to the strength and investment that has been made in their squads over the past couple of seasons.

The Welsh outfit managed to earn 111 points in the National League and have an experienced manager in Phil Parkinson that has earned four promotions in his managerial career with the likes of Colchester, Bradford, Bolton and the Racecourse Ground club.

Meanwhile, Stockport finished on 79 points in their first campaign back in League Two. The Hatters also have a manager in the shape of Dave Challinor that has earned six promotions across his managerial career.

AFC Wimbledon had a very poor League Two campaign last time out, as they finished just five points above the drop zone and will be aware of the potential consequences should they fail to improve.

Crewe finished as high as 13th in League Two last time out, however, they could be in trouble in the upcoming campaign if their faltering goalscoring form continues, having only bagged 48 in 46 matches last time out, while leaking 60. Alexandra will need to replace Dan Agyei, following the ex-Burnley striker’s move to Leyton Orient at the end of the season. Agyei scored 16 goals last season, while their second and third top scorers only bagged eight and three goals each.
