West Ham are looking to find a new manager as the owners are beginning to lose faith in their current manager David Moyes.

Despite their great run in the Europa Conference league West Ham are struggling in the league and are only four points clear from the relegation zone. Under Moyes, the Hammers have won eight, drawn seven, and lost 15 times in the Premier League during the 2022/23 campaign, resulting in a 27%-win percentage.

Rafael Benítez Odds: 3/1

Former Champions League winner with Liverpool, Rafa Benítez, is the favourite to be appointed as Manager of West Ham. Benítez has managed many big clubs around Europe and has won a lot of trophies along the way.

Most recently he was at Everton, having been appointed as Toffees manager on a three-year deal in June 2021, he became only the second person to manage Everton and Liverpool since William Edwards Barclay back in the 1890s.

The toffees lost nine of their last 12 league matches under Benítez which gave the club no other option but to sack Rafa. Benítez left Everton with a win percentage of 31.8%, his lowest record in charge of any English club.

Graham Potter Odds: 5/1

Recently sacked from Chelsea Graham Potter is in the running to become the next West Ham manager.

Potter was appointed as Chelsea's manager back in September 2022. But was sacked after just seven months into his 5-year contract, after winning just seven of his 22 games in the Premier League.

Before his spell at Chelsea, Potter was the Brighton manager. Potter was appointed in May 2019. In his first season, the former Swansea manager got them a record number of points tally of 41 which he managed to achieve again in the following campaign.

But, it was Potter’s last season that was the most impressive during his spell at the Amex Stadium, finishing ninth and reaching 51 points, breaking the Seagulls’ record last season for most points in a top-flight season.

Michael Carrick Odds: 6/1

Former West Ham player Michael Carrick could be the Hammers’ next Manager following an impressive start to managerial life at Middlesbrough.

Carrick was part of the academy at West Ham for two years before making his senior debut for the Hammers in 1999. He made 136 appearances for the club and scored six goals before joining Tottenham in the summer of 2004.

After he retired from playing football in 2018 following 17 trophies in 12 years at Manchester United, he went into management. Carrick was part of the coaching staff at United for three years before leaving the club to become the new manager of Middlesbrough in 2022.

The 41-year-old has turned Middlesbrough’s season around, winning 14 of their last 21 games and taking them from 21st in the league to 4th and look certain for a play-off place.

Paulo Fonseca Odds: 6/1

LOSC Lille coach Paulo Fonseca has 6/1 odds to be given the West Ham job permanently.

After a decent couple of years at Roma, Fonseca was linked with the Tottenham job, but advanced talks were stopped on 17 June 2021, allegedly due to a tax issue. It was later revealed in an interview with The Daily Telegraph that Tottenham wanted a more defensive-minded manager.

On June 2022 Fonseca signed a 2-year deal with French club Lille. At the start of the season, Fonseca was praised for their stylish and slick passing game in an open 4-2-3-1 formation.

The Portuguese manager has had a decent spell at the club. Lille are currently fifth in Ligue 1 and have only lost once in their last five games. This is a solid turnaround considering Lille’s 10th-place finish last season under Jocelyn Gourvennec.

Brendan Rodgers Odds: 7/1

Another manager that has been recently sacked is ex-Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers, with his odds at 7/1 to be given the role as manager of West Ham.

The Northern Irishman became Celtic manager in 2016, In his first season, he led Celtic to an undefeated domestic season and won trebles in his first two years at the club. However, Rodgers left Celtic on poor terms, departing partway through his third season at the club for Leicester City.

Rodgers was sacked from his role as Leicester City manager on 2nd April after they dropped into the relegation zone after a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace. Despite this, the ex-Liverpool manager was successful at Leicester. In his second season, he managed to win the FA Cup, which was the Foxes first ever FA Cup triumph, back in 2021. And just a couple of months later he won the Community Shield against Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino Odds: 12/1

Mauricio Pochettino is still on the lookout for a new job, after being sacked from PSG back in July 2022.

The Argentinian was praised highly for the work he did at Southampton; he was appointed in January 2013. In his first full season, Pochettino got the Saints an eighth-place finish in the Premier League, their highest league position since 2002-2003.

Pochettino was appointed as Tottenham's manager in May 2014 off the back of his time at St Mary’s, signing a five-year contract. During his time at the club, it was regarded as a success despite not winning anything.

The 51-year-old got Tottenham on many cup runs especially in 2019 where he got Tottenham to a Champions League final for the first time in their history, after beating Ajax in the semi-final with a Lucas Moura second-half hattrick. However, Tottenham lost the final 2-0 against Liverpool in Madrid. Just five months after that final, Pochettino was sacked due to their poor start to the season.

On 2nd January 2021, Pochettino was appointed the new PSG manager, where he had spent two years during his playing career. In Paris, he won his first trophy as a manager, beating Monaco in the Trophée des Champions. In his second season, he won the French Ligue 1 title but was sacked a month later.
