Crystal Palace are next in line at 5/1. The Eagles manager Roy Hodgson’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and this could see the board at Selhurst Park explore other options.
Palace have previously been linked with the likes of Sean Dyche to replace Hodgson, but with Burnley having recently been taken over, and the fact that the former Watford man has been at Turf Moor for so long, that move now looks off the cards. Whereas for Lampard, this could be a good chance to revitalise his managerial career, as going to a club like Palace would’ve been a more natural step from Derby County, compared to the role that he took at Stamford Bridge, as it would’ve allowed him to build up more experience before moving to such a big club.
The Eagles are rumoured to be looking for a more progressive manager than Hodgson, and Lampard fits the bill, due to his possession and attacking style, as well as his recent track record of developing young players, something of which the Selhurst Park club need to do, as they have the oldest starting line-up on average in the Premier League this season.
