After being in the role for just over two years, SPL side Hearts last week sacked manager Craig Levin.
Hearts lost 1-0 away to St Johnstone to leave them second bottom, with only goal difference keeping them off the foot of the table.
It’s no surprise the former Scotland manager has got the boot, Hearts have only won one game this season, with eight points to their name.
Levin took over as manager at the beginning of the 2017/18, where he guided the club to sixth position, which was repeated last season.
However, results this season clearly haven’t been good enough yet despite this will still be involved in the club in an advisory role until the end of the season, which may involve finding his successor.
So, the Edinburgh side are on the hunt for a replacement and we look to see who Sky Bet are favouring for the next man in the dugout at Tynecastle.
Robinson a short favourite for Tynecastle switch
The market is speaking for one man only and that is Motherwell manager Steve Robinson, who is 8/11 to leave Motherwell and make the switch to Hearts.
It’s not difficult to see why Hearts would be interested in the 44-year-old, who has transformed Motherwell since taking over in 2017.
Under his leadership, Motherwell have finished 7th, then finishing top of the relegation phase before finishing 8th last season, going on to finish 2nd in the relegation phase.
Where Robinson has really impressed is his side's performances in the cup competitions, having reached both the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup final in his time at Fir Park, although was beaten by Celtic on both occasions.
Despite being so short in the betting, the issue for Hearts is Robinson is under contract and a switch at this point of the season may be difficult, as it would then leave Motherwell needing a new manager.
Robinson has started this season in brilliant fashion, Motherwell are third in the SPL with seven wins and 22 points, with just Celtic and Rangers ahead of them, should the offer come, he may think twice of leaving for relegation candidates as opposed to a team he’s got competing at the top.
Quick return to management for Jack Ross?
If the logistics of Robinson making a switch mid-season mean the deal may not go through, Hearts could turn to Jack Ross, who is in at 7/2 second favourite to replace Levin.
Unlike Robinson, Ross is out of work, having just recently being sacked from Sunderland after a poor start to the season.
Ross took over Sunderland last season, who were newly relegated to League One and led the side to the Play-Off final where they were beaten by Charlton.
His stock rose through his work at St Mirren, where in his first full season, he guided the club to win the Scottish Championship. He then left for Sunderland straight after.
Ross would be a risk in that he has never managed in the top flight and comes into a club who are going to be fighting relegation however he did to the same at St Mirren, coming in during October and guiding the club to safety, albeit in the Scottish Championship.
Familiar Faces make up outsiders
There are a few familiar faces in the betting at bigger odds, and those odds would suggest it’s difficult to see them taking up the challenge at Tynecastle.
He might be a Scott, but David Moyes has never managed north of the border and he is 8/1 to take his first job in the SPL. The former Manchester United manager is out work since leaving West Ham in May of 2018 but would most likely be looking for work in England.
Another name familiar to many will be Mark Hughes, who is available at odds of 12/1. Hughes started his managerial career at Wales but since then has exclusively managed in England and has been out of work since being sacked by Southampton last December but again like Moyes, would most likely be seeing work in England.
