West Ham United have been linked with Ainsley Maitland-Niles since it was reported recently that Mikel Arteta will listen to offers due to the club’s recent financial situation.
Maitland-Niles is a perfect fit for David Moyes, who looks to bolster his right-back position as well as needing midfielders due to the age of Mark Noble and Carlos Sanchez departing the club. Maitland-Niles can play both right-back position and midfield but in an interview with Sky Sports earlier this year, he said he prefers the midfield position although later in the year specified that he would just be happy to play.
However, there is one slight issue which is the price tag of £30m. This is a huge figure especially with the recent economic climate, although reports of a bid for star Declan Rice from Chelsea could provide such funds, with some estimating that he will cost around £40m-£50m.
West Ham are now priced at 6/1 to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Arsenal this transfer window.
