Last summer there was a lot of speculation surrounding Norwich City’s 21-year-old right-back Max Aarons, following an impressive season with the Canaries in the Premier League. It was rumoured that prior to signing American full-back Sergino Dest from Ajax, that Barcelona were going to try and sign the Norwich man as they believed he would be a cheaper option, but their attempts were rebuffed as Daniel Farke’s side refused to compromise on a cut-price fee and rightly so.
In the 2018/2019 campaign, Aarons was named as EFL Young Player of the Year as Norwich won the Championship, as well as being named in the EFL’s and PFA’s Team of the Season. Last season despite Norwich being relegated from the Premier League he was a standout performer in the league over his 36 appearances and can count himself unlucky not to get a move back to England’s top flight, alike former teammates Ben Godfrey and Jamal Lewis who earned themselves moves to Everton and Newcastle United, respectively.
Let's take a look at where next for Max Aarons.
